When Margaret Pendragon uploaded the University Life Rabbit Hole Rugsby request and Twallan updated the Careers Mod Suite to support a home world University, I had to use it out. So I designed a lot for some of precisely the same functions you could have within a University world. The lot have several buildings that serve each one of the colleges, stadium/annex and administration office. There can be a mini quad area as well as a small garden of herbs along with a grill area involving the administration and science/medical buildings.
Required EP, University Life, and I did use some items on the Decades, 70s, 80s, 90s SP, although SP is just not required.

Bad news: EA of their infinite wisdom added a cleanup routine for Academic Careers while playing the homeworld, which unfortunately they placed in the rather obnoxious location.
To add protections around that code, without using a Core-Mod, requires some updates on the suite, down the same lines as how Dream Catching works:
All Hard-Reset mods will require updating MasterController, ErrorTrap
All mods which entail switching households requires updating Selector, PortraitPanel, StoryProgression, Mover
What this implies is that if you intend to play employing a homeworld university, you'll need to put in a couple mods on the suite to be sure the academic career isn't stripped off your sims.

Sometimes, when downloading a lot on the gallery, the overall game wont automatically register it on the career events system. After downloading a work lot through the gallery or placing one from the library, set all type to something random, exit build mode, enter build mode again then
set everyone type to your correct type. If this is the first time while using mod, I strongly suggest saving before sending a Sim to figure for
the very first time, to make sure you didnt make any mistakes.
I strongly suggest to disable aging as if your sims head to university just as The Sims 3, they didnt age. You should re-enable it after they
