For me, from a brilliant begin with Shogun, Medieval, and Rome, the Total War series got too caught up with a glut of unit types. I do not know what these clowns are complaining about, but I really like this game. Granted, Steam sucks finish a. But you really know what? If it werent for Steam, really the only PC game you'll ever play can be some worthless port. Your first clue for the reason that this might be a considerable game is there is no PS3 or Xbox version. This game was developed exclusively for PCs and takes full selling point of my new setup. The direct x 11 graphics are beyond cool; these are, on occasion at least, absolutely breathtaking. The AI is very good, especially within the battlefield using the battle difficulty resulted in. There is simply just no limit from what you can do in terms of recreating famous battle tactics and maneuvers from history. Show me another non-pos, non-port game where that can be done that. As with the kid whining about being attacked his first turn, go play COD.
As a Civ IV addict who had previously been absolutely disappointed and rather nauseated in doing what they did to this game, I was excited to discover that I had found a worthy supplement not replacement in Shogun 2. The diplomatic aspect on the game is just not as cool Civ IV you cant trade tech, people appear to break treaties with impunity, the resource angle is just not so clear, etc., nevertheless the battle sequences are flat out badass. And like Civ, its still extremely fun to vassalize some poor bastard who just happens to get camping out during my favorite spot alongside Kyoto. So it goes, and so I play what's an awesome game.

First impressions have become positive - exotic setting, very polished interface, graphics and audio the music activity score alone may be valued at the purchase. The game looks stunning following DirectX11 patch was already released. Battles are quick and deadly, castle sieges can be a bit slower but more action packed due on the way they're performed. Strategic part from the game is involved, the expanded over Medieval diplomacy and character development trees undoubtedly are a nice feature. Tech tree seems a lttle bit smaller now though may very well be only my impression. The only gripe that I have with the experience is a limited unit selection. The game gets repetitive too soon. After playing 5 campaign games I lost a bit with the interest from it. Every clan has access to precisely the same units, the one difference being traits and bonuses put into some units/buildings according to which faction you really choose. That quickly deteriorates into the overall game of rock-paper-scissors operating troops being simply divided into 4 main categories equal of spears, swords, cavalry and archers. Given, same can probably be said about Medieval, but there at the least each category had many units within it, to get a total of in close proximity to 200 possible fieldable units. Overall though, It can be a very enjoyable game, with perhaps somewhat less replay value when compared to the older games inside the series. It is going to be interesting to find out if you will have any expansion packs inside future.

This game is extremely good. As hot for RTS games and samurais, it was like a dream be realized. Most with the bad comments are not regarding the game itself, though the fact that the bingo requires a great deal of hardware. I am running this on my small ASUS G75vw-ds72, and yes it runs perfectly although it will get slow at places.
I just like the simplicity on the game: as an alternative to having a great deal of different types of troops, you can find only three main types each making use of their own abilities and failings. The scales in the battles are huge high can be a large number of men fighting around the battlefield each time.
Online is actually comparatively fun too, nonetheless it may get a lttle bit repetitive when you are just playing the avatar conquest. The multiplayer campaign is fun, but taking turns just isn't very pleasant, specially when the other player takes forever. Online may also lag sometimes if the connection is just not too great.
Overall, the bingo is great and you will really get it if you're a fan from the series or ant rts games.
