This version of Windows is really a great improvement. I never found Vista really bad, there have been some things that drove me somewhat mad but this version does fix those problems. I was able to install and obtain my machine operational in a lot less than 1 hour. I used most major os's from Microsoft since Windows 3.1, some being absolutely horrible Windows ME and several being excellent Windows XP. I have already been using Vista since its release and im not very happy from it - its sluggish, a resource hog and has now given me driver and software issues.
Since the Beta stages of Windows 7 I was pretty exaggerated about it as every step from the way they have seemed like an incredibly stable and solid system. To date, I have not actually seen a credible source offer a bad review about Windows 7. Yes, there will are the inevitable Linux and Mac fan-boys making loud noises about this being rubbish, but those kinds will not be happy with most things that comes using a Microsoft badge, even though it was a free of charge all-inclusive holiday on the Maldives.
Anyway, Ive been with all the public RC Release Candidate since its day 1 release and Ive not stood a single driver issue, and then any Vista or XP software that's not run properly, appears to mostly run fine under compatibility mode. If not, theres always the XP Mode feature hard to get at in Home Premium!. Best of it doesnt eat away at computer memory like Vista did.
