3.5 installs an email finder service pack 2.0. Those would be the changes you happen to be seeing in this directory. This service pack can even be installed separate 3.5 in case you want.
Where to you have the service pack for a few.0. Can you 3.5 without 2.0 SP or possibly is 3.5 dependent around the SP being installed also?
3.5 actually uses 2.0 CLR - which can be why there isn t an added dropdown in IIS to configure this. As long as you 2.0 3.5 application works fine.
So 3.5 just installs additional libraries to support the revolutionary features Linq, etc, a lot like 3.0 just added libraries for WCF, WPF, etc.

Maybe I should have asked the question within a little different way I did comprehend the var keyword but didn t post an excellent question. One thing I am expecting is the fact some people in teams like mine will switch to VS2008 and several will stay on VS2005. How do I prevent people by using language improvements for example var keyword making sure that projects is usually opened in VS2005 and VS2008.

Very newbee type question. I opened a preexisting C project, VS2008 experienced the mechanics of converting the project and presenting the interface. The project is targetted 2.0 platform but I am still able to work with var x10; and compile just fine without any errors! Am I missing something? I thought this statement has not been supposed to compile if target 2.0. Please help and I apologize if this may be answered already.
The var keyword is truly a language keyword, and doesn t 3.5 to be able to work. So in case you are using multi-targetting, it is possible to actually utilize this in VS 2008 with 2.0 project.

One thing I noticed installing VS 2008 over a Windows Server 2003 box with VS 2005 with out 2008 beta/CTP version.
After I installed VS 2008, it reverted every one of my configured IIS websites back for the 1.1 version on the framework on the version 2.0. Just something for being mindful of. It took me a 2nd or two to capture on to what actually happened.

I wrote an evaluation application using new C and LINQ features. LINQ to objects works fine under Windows 2000, but LINQ to XML crashes which has a Method not found exception because attempts to use a fresh red or green function not really defined in I am sure that it is going to work after SP1 is installed nevertheless there is no reason why it should not.
However, will Microsoft offer an official package due to this Windows 2000 scenario, or are programmers that this automatically, or possibly it even forbidden to redistribute a handpicked subset of 3.5 assemblies to Windows 2000 customers?

Bug: Including a mention of in your aspx page, will break the designer, that is it can not show any elements of yours anymore. Removing jquery ; will remedy it. Isn t it cute? I think it is usually a problem using the parsing of the js that could incomodate the designer. I wonder if anyone at shiny Microsoft did ever test this break-through feature against real-world examples and never tiny hello world js files.
I ve tested the ultimate version a tad now, and it also s a pleasant improvement over beta2 in lots of areas. But my main downside to beta2 hasn t been fixed: If you utilize the outlining feature on large xml files to hold it managable, VS2008 is useless, at least in the event you use attributes.
