I began utilizing the alpha of the in December 2008 and thought Id found heaven for Vista. The great experience continued thru the betas, but I installed this final release. And since then, Ive seen more BSODs within the last couple of weeks than I saw across numerous years of XP and also the crappy old Vista.
Another height of Microsoft taking 2 steps forward and 3 steps backwards. Having before seen it so few times, I honestly had little idea exactly what the BSOD was until installing this bit of crap. I now comprehend it well. Oh, high have also been 3 hardware failure shutdowns since installing this so-called final release. Bottom line: this release is infinitely less stable compared to alphas betas of it within the last few several month.

I have uninstalled McAfee antivirus after which used McAfee removal tool.

The firewall is off and windows defender is disabled.

I followed the steps suggested by TaurArian. Update history was removed as suggested.
Ran windows update and Windows Vista Service Pack 1 KB936330 was offered for download and installation size 1.9MB
Upon aiming to put in, same issue as previously. It seems to fit in a handful of seconds and shows as successful installation. It hasnt installed though.
Windows firewall was deterred when going through these process. No virus software. Windows defender powered down. Startup programmes were blocked.

The standalone version is 434MB. Trying to fit this way throws up larger than fifteen code after about 2 minutes. The rebbot has never been reached before cellular phone is aborted.
