You do be aware that it will not be Garrys mod. Things that are CNet Installer enabled will have toolbars and things bundled with him or her. It is just not the developers fault.
I completed each of the instructions and re-entered the app id. i even downloaded SDK source engine, 2006, 2007. but whenever i strive to access the experience it says cannot load library client. I have not a clue what i did wrong and i also would just like to play the action.

1. Download and install Steam and make up a Steam account:
2. Load Steam and visit View Tools and double click Source SDK Base 2007 to download and install.
3. Double click Source SDK Base 2007 to load. Run the Video Stress Test, exit anytime.
4. Download and install Half-Life 2 Garrys Mod
5. Go to C:Program FilesSteamsteamappssourcemodsgmod9. Open the file and change 220 to 218 218 may be the APP ID of Source SDK Base 2007. Save the file.
6. In Steam, head to View Games List and double click Garrys Mod 9 to perform.
Something was changed and SDK Base 2007 no more works. Install SDK Base 2006 instead, and that is App ID 215.
Remember to switch the App ID from 220 to 215 inside file present in gmod9 folder, as explained in more detail above.

this guide seemed helpful and I followed the steps you provided exactly but gmod is just not appearing around my games list. There was an oversight message that appeared as soon as the installation on the mod because of this page nevertheless it cannot detect steam. I do use a steam account in fact it is installed on my pc but I think that this will be the reason for doing this not working.
