I have owned Winzip for approximately 20 years. It has been a helpful tool to save and backup files.
The current version is boated 249 MB installed.
Default view doesnt show the folder tree. Neither does classic view.
Selecting multiples folder with Shiftmouse click dont work anymore. Selecting having a mouse becomes necessary, with all the risk of inadvertedly moving files.
A trivial function like pausing the unzip process just isn't there.

Winzip isnt software that is going to look pretty; it needs to get useful. Pretty along with practical is okay. Pretty rather than practical is disappointing. Recent updates have increasingly hidden critical features. Version 19 as done away which has a real classic view altogether. Ive experimented with adapt to it, but want to downgrade and cancel my subscription. The straw that broke the camels back? A nearly impossible-to-find feature to pick certain files within an archive. So, pretty, but there is however nothing inside the current version-19, IIRC-that I dont already manage more readily myself, like integrating my cloud back services.
Great product, however they need to convince you it only works should you run it in Safe Mode. Then it removes every one of the offending adware beautifully. If not in Safe Mode, you could as well forget does some marginal improvement. After your laptop is clean, it will do a good job of preventing new malware ll tell you.

I bought winzip 18.5 in a reduced price a month ago, 11 14 14, I could not download because at each of the goog links I tried, that it was only set to load new 19. I emailed winzip ans we were holding very good about helping, but even they kept sending me links for 19. Finally I almost lost the fight I explained my purchase was for that 18. 5 version, they sent the proper link and yes it worked out fine. I have to the email replys were fast and also helpfull, on the other hand mindset is for the newest 19 version,,, dont throw in the towel,,,,,
