I have owned Winzip for around 20 years. It has been a helpful tool to hold and backup files.

No registration info was shipped to registered versions from then on.

I bought winzip 18.5 in a reduced price a little while ago, 11 14 14, I could not download because at the many goog links I tried, it had been only set to load new 19. I emailed winzip ans these were very good about helping, but even they kept sending me links for 19. Finally I almost lost the fight I explained my purchase was for that 18. 5 version, they sent the proper link and it also worked out fine. I have to the email replys were fast and also helpfull, nonetheless mindset is for the modern 19 version,,, dont quit,,,,,

This review was very useful because it has, finally, shown me that Microsoft dont worry about being fair! Tv programs that worked fine when first build on XP media version now dont work; and they desire to charge for upgrading to windows I can get a full blown flat screen TV for half the value!!

Sorry, just saw your reply. Your sarcasm is noted. When I wrote the review, I was frustrated that I couldnt just download Media Center on it's own. I was also aggravated by MS excluding XP support from the products for that sole reason for pushing people to the revolutionary OS. However, its unimportant. This review was almost two years ago, the ones should definitely be looking for another thing by now, whether or not its not Windows. Windows 7 is extremely good, but people moves with Ubuntu if your upgrade is cost-prohibitive; desktop Linux has come a long ways, along with the upgrades cost nothing.
Also, I know it seems silly should be expected that links to XP Media Center Edition denote XP Media Center Edition and never something else. Maybe its CNETs problem, and so they just must take down this faulty download listing.

Now that is certainly amazing - I can not believe Microsoft can have the gall to connection to their new, updated product after their previous version determined by an os that is over several years old is past its life.
