Hello Entgelt, and here you are at Seven Forums.
You didn't miss anything. It seems that you may only turn the Windows Startup sound on / off in this setting, and should not change it automatically.
However, you can affect the startup sound employing this:
I there however to export a solid scheme for transferring it completely to another computer? Not the main theme, that can also include the sounds. I need to transfer the sound scheme or save it for future use.

The actual sounds in a very scheme are placed here: C:WindowsMedia SoundSchemeName, where SoundSchemeName would be the name in the Scheme
To start, hello. Im not used to these forums, and I joined because I need Windows 8 support.
About the other day, I was wondering how I went about enabling the Startup sound to experience. I discovered that so as to have any Startup sound playing, the choice needed for being checked in Control Panel Sounds. Coincidentally, I found how the Windows Logon/Logoff options were missing, so I went in the registry and changed the mandatory 1s to 0s, and from now on they appear since they should. However, when I select a solid for them, it doesnt play when I go online. It is important to be aware that Im within the impression how the Logon sound and Startup sound are two various things. The Startup sound I found that I couldn't change without messing up Metro, so I left it because the default Windows Vista/7 sound that plays. But if I am correct, there should also be a solid played once you log in or log off.
So, in a nutshell, how do I find the login/logoff sounds to experience?
Hello Kyle, and thanks for visiting Eight Forums.
Unfortunately, the login/off sounds are already hard coded being disabled in Windows 8 to assist improve the performance and security during startup.
As you might have already found, theres that solution to add these sound events directly into Sounds, but they also will still not function. I was planning to do a tutorial with this myself, nonetheless it was pointless to incorporate them back whenever they will still not play.
Theres currently just not a way to get these sounds to experience.
Motherboard ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0
So far about that seems that can be achieved is to have file included in your Startup folder to try out when you register at startup.

Head to HKEYCURRENTUSERAppEventsEventLabels and you will see a quantity of subfolders, each of them representing another sound inside OS. If you select one say, WindowsLogon youll view a key inside the right pane called ExcludeFromCPL. Double-click it and change its value to 0.

When hearing any sound source like Youtube or BBC iPlayer the quality about this Windows 8 machine, HP Pavilion, is okay. If I record the music activity on either Audacity or Windows sound recorder the playback sounds weird just like the speakers were under water. Tried changing levels but no difference made. Any suggestions,
My primary suspicion is often a poor quality mic. Most microphones which came inbuilt with the headset aim at chatting and wont provide quality sound input required for recording purpose. My suggestion is usually to buying a good quality professional grade headset or standalone mic.
Edited by Anshad Edavana, 01 September 2013 - 11:27 AM.
What in regards to the built-in microphone, could it be enabled or otherwise not? Maybe sound from multiple sources internet, microphone etc has recorded simultaneously, so you have the results you describe.
There isn't any microphone as much as I can tell with this machine. The point is which the sound quality is ok once you listen to stuff available on-line. It is only once you record the audio using Audacity or Windows sound recoder which the problem could there be on playback. I have tried changing the sampling rate on Audacity without having obvious good effect. I dont observe that there can be any question of acoustic feedback as there isn't a mic as well as the problem could there be when I develop the speakers on or off through the recording. I guess the analogue audio signal is now being quantified because of the software recorder hence my considering sampling rate but up to now nothing has indicated that this is the cause in the problem. I have the same effect when I download stuff from Youtube and strip away from the video. Sounds ok until I load it into Audacity and on playback the condition appears. I use Audacity to normalise and edit the recordings. So realtime recording or downloading and transfer on the recorder same effect, distorted audio on playback. Did not have this problem in this little last machine with Windows Vista that produces me wonder if this describes another Windows 8
PS I do re-save the audio in WAV format so could that be everything to do with this issue? I dont think so as being the distortion will there be on playing the playback quality on Audacity before I save it.
Ok after much fiddling can load files of music and edit and resave them without having obvious distortion. However distortion very obvious when playing back after recording streaming audio. Not too much of an problem except the place you cannot download files like BBC iPlayer radio. I discover that when recording streaming audio the slider on the top right hand side in the Audacity control panel while using loudspeaker symbol controls recording level which strikes me for being odd. The other slider using the microphone symbol does only then I dont employ a mic attached to this
As an experiment I have downloaded a shot copy of Wondershare streaming audio recorder. This does not produce the distortion that I am hearing with Windows recorder or Audacity. So I can download music with Wondershare then transfer the file and edit with Audacity but it really is strange that Wondershare works ok in Windows 8 and Audacity and Windows own recorder has this concern. In another place someone has suggested that there is usually a problem with Beats Audio which this machine is
Pretty helpful tip I guess for anyone, I am already using Audials Tunebite to capture and save streaming movies and videos from Youtube online streaming library:
This one gets me high-quality videos plus I can also make use of it to convert recorded Youtube video streams to your format I need for simple watching.
