I go right to the Realtek site when I see these updates. I have Gigabyte boards which employ the Realtek put in place and are still back on 2.71r or 2.73r. I try and keep the drivers, no less than, updated. One board is 890fxa ud5 as well as the other is 990fxa ud3, both have the identical alc889 though the 990 carries a far more extensive dobly pc ht interface. i download that as well from realtek even so the 2 boards have 2 separate and different dolby set ups and operations. peecee4 drivers get set up in the 990 yet not the 890.
I have never had any real difficulties with any with the drivers or updates time for 2.60 over these boards. So, the updates are simply for routine updating. i'm able to always roll back simple enough. they installs are 2 part and totally automatic.
only troubles i'd is then the installer uninstalled partially 1, and blue screened or didn't successfully reboot following your uninstall part. not using this type of latest 2.75 version on either machine. to date, delicious. but no changes, consistently.
Not any in version 2.75 from realtek link. I see some reports of added software and junk being installed. I didn't the issue. i just now get the installer package in the realtek site plus it takes care on the uninstall-reboot, install-reboot as well as the change is conducted. little else but drivers and software process has become very smooth and simple since v2.71. i not really know bout the and/or what they have to tack on and whether an opt out dialogue box is added. I usually do not use that method anymore. simply a direct realtek site download. simple enough to find and accomplish, and still have been safe and clean for years

Manually Install is quicker then clicking ok 40 times.
The point is this. If the trucker installation program itself is providing you problems that would just be simpler and faster to complete a manual install. Follow these steps for anyone who is logged within administrator rights.
Right click computer and enter device manager. From there get the drop down tree for the sound controller. Expand the tree and right click on the sound unit and select update driver. Select search my computer. Go into your drivers folder and discover and select the right folder select Vista for Vista and 7 32 bit or select Vista64 if you possess a 64bit version of either operation system. If you want to determine if your computer is 64 bit or otherwise not go into system properties and look at it. Which is usually seen by right hitting computer and selecting properties. Your summary should surface along with other sorts of things.
Not being lazy and letting an effective application whos only job would be to copy the drivers and provide the stupid looking realtek gui, which frankly I prefer to search without. Hope this gave all of you some insight.

Starts to fit, then Win7 says it cant verify the publisher, I click install anyway along with a few seconds later precisely the same message pops up that it cant verify the publisher. Clicked on this maybe 50 times. Same result.

The file that gets downloaded because of this driver is really a ZIP file. Try unzipping the file before clicking for the setup application. You wont view the Run as Administrator option over a Right Click unless you've already unzipped the files.
