28th December 2009 I got a new HP Advent laptop from PC world England I presume this web site is american, this laptop included Windows 7 preinstalled. I have had no problems in any respect and I actually much like the software.
Today I welcomed in the bottom right hand corner of my wallpaper this mark Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of Windows just isn't genuine. Obviously I have bought quite sure legally with my laptop why then is this saying this? Do I must activate it? I didnt think I did because it was preinstalled I never needed to with XP on my own last laptop.
I tried microsoft supprt, when requested the Product ID I don't possess my documents within this house I clicked FIND so it could not.
I aplogise if and I probably have I have posted this from the wrong section, plus if this really is answered in another post, though the posts I saw were from upgrading mine originates from a new computer.
I appreciate any help or advice.
I are finding my Product ID so when I enter it about the Microsoft support sheet it says we have a problem with it, though I ensured it was within the correct format the example was numbers only mine included letters? I dunno. I may pop into PC world monday or something

Luke, this could not happen, try this:Click Start and inside the Run box type 4, Enter. Select an activation centre in your town, call, talk with a real person and explain how it happened.
hbaruzzi, from the post it appears as if you have used an item key from a single of your computers on another. You cannot try this. You many use an item key during one computer only. Your problem is just different from Lukes. If you might have 2 computers you would like 2 copies of windows2 product keys.
The one that you entered is a product or service ID that exist in your computers sytem properties. and it will not be the product key. Product ID contains only
numbers and produckt key's alpha numeric.
The message disappeared because whenever you connected your laptop to Internet, your copy of windows was automatically activated.

Thanks for ones time and answer, it seemed strange in my experience since I was connected towards the internet about this same laptop over a month, so I belief that would happen to be done when I first registered.

k30, Did you choose the Family Pack or one copy? If you bought 1 copy you a lot use it on 1 computer only. That is why you will be having problems.
I just experienced a similar trouble with Windows 7. I got such a legal copy on the OS around the day it had been available to the general public, then the store installed it on my small Dell laptop to me. All the time as it has worked flawlessly. Today, I installed a whole new Intel chipset driver available about the Windows Update website. After the reboot, I received precisely the same message you did- This copy of Windows isn't genuine. Rather than wreak havoc on how to fix this error, I used the Windows rollback feature to reverse for the previous driver and for the restore pont created once the download began. Now larger than fifteen message is finished and your computer works fine. Hope it will help.
In respond to Jerry in Maryland s post on April 22, 2010
Ahh I see whatever you mean there, and I be aware of the rollback feature, however my security prevents me while using that while thank you on your answer and experience, but if there exists a moderator reading this article message i do believe this thread needs to be locked, the perfect solution has long been answered. Thanks to everyone who helped, it appears quite rare for problems to take place on Windows 7 it looks like a really solid system.

We bought a whole new HP laptop with Win 7 Pro 64 bit preinstalled in July 2013 coming from a reputable I think online dealer. I installed the free version of Avast and initially all was well, and bootup time was extremely swift. After about on a monthly basis or 2, I was prompted to update Avast, which I did. Immediately 2 problems cropped up. First, bootup time became very painfully slow sometimes around 5 minutes or even more before the pc is fully operational. Once it turned out booted up, this didn't seem particularly slow anymore. Second, we begun to get the message inside lower right that copy of Windows isn't genuine build 7601. This message occurs only occasionally most on the time it does NOT appear, and yes it does not appear to have any noticeable effect unless it's related for the slow bootup time. The screen shows our normal wallpaper. Reading somewhere that Avast could have caused the slow bootup time, I uninstalled Avast and instead installed the free version of AVG, which I still use. But both problems persist slow bootup and occasional windows not genuine message. I believe my copy of Windows is honest, but interestingly, the computer will not have a COA sticker, no less than no that I can find. We also don't have Win 7 disk from MS only from HP. I strongly suspect that Avast caused the condition, but I dont know the way to fix it. Below could be the MGADiag report.

Your symptoms are routine of a race condition - almost certainly caused by a conflict between AV and also other software.
I indicates uninstalling Avast completely, and running their cleanup tool.
What other AVs happen to be installed even though not activated? - most will include a free trial install of either Norton or McAfee, so its worth running the removal tools for both.
Click Save, and save the file to your folder on your personal machine.
Navigate on the folder in which you saved the file.
right-click on and select Run as Administrator to perform the removal tool.
Close all the programs, then run the tool. When its complete, reboot the device whether it requests it or otherwise not.
After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run this command
Youll be advised to reboot - achieve this.
Now uninstall Avast - utilizing the normal Control Panel uninstaller.
Follow the instructions for running it, and once complete, reboot your machine.
Allow it to down for 10 mins or so, then reboot again and reinstall Avast rrmprove it.

Thanks for the help. I really enjoy it.
I already had uninstalled Avast and installed AVG instead a few months ago. I followed your steps otherwise, and in addition uninstalled AVG. I tried the Avast cleaner anyway, but it called for the location where Avast files were stored, though the Avast folder already was gone from my earlier uninstall awhile ago. So Im not certain if the Avast cleaner actually did anything.
But, effortlessly AV software uninstalled I thought, bootup seemed slightly faster. I reinstalled Avast, and immediately things got MUCH worse. First a window appeared telling me that there were 2 AVs installed I guess MSE was additional? Also, bootup times got VERY long, approximately 10 minutes usually longer prior to a desktop icons even appeared. And then simply clicking an icon prior to bootup was complete seemingly generated punishment because it seemed for taking even longer on top of that!
Tonight the Windows not genuine message came again. I ran the NETSH WINSOCK RESET command again and uninstalled Avast. Now I have only MSE for AV software I think, plus the desktop icons appear right away upon booting. Unfortunately, still takes quite awhile 5-10 mins before clicking on a single of the icons or perhaps the start button actually does anything.
I helps keep monitoring and report a few weeks how bootup will be, and if the not genuine maessage reappears.
Ah - I could possibly have misunderstood things a bit. Sorry
AVG may leave stuff behind. - as well as the residuals from any AV can hinder the proper installation of your later one.
If you didnt already achieve this, run the Avast cleanup tool again, then run the 2012 and 2014 versions from the AVG
Follow the instructions for running it, after which reboot the device whether it requires it or otherwise not, and if the program rebooted already you aren't.
Then uninstall MSE, reboot, and reinstall it - this will get rid of any residual corruption attributable to possible left-overs.

Internet Speed around I can get - usually with a dongle, so 1Mb/s
I did run the 2014 version of AVG remover, however, not the 2012 version. Ill achieve that this weekend. But before I ran the 2014 version, I first uninstalled AVG from your control panel. Running the remover then generated some error messages I guess it experimented with remove files it could actually no longer find.
First, if I uninstall MSE from your control panel, does it leave residual?
Second, will you recommend reinstalling MSE again, or another AV? I understand that MSE is lightweight in comparison to some other free AVs like Avast or AVG. I liked Avast when I first installed it many months ago, but am wary given that it might be a significant resource hog the setup file is 80 mb.
Third, the Avast cleanup tool requested a location the location where the relevant files are situated. But the folder called Avast is gone in the event the program is uninstalled through the control panel. What do I specify as the positioning? I did run the tool again yesterday evening and just devote Program Files/Avast even however the folder Avast lo longer existed or hasn't been visible?. The cleanup tool warned that files inside specified folder will be irretrievable deleted. Upon execution, it flashed an email about deleting something. But I am uncertain whether or not this actually did anything.
Thanks again. Im learning something.
MSE incorporates a very light touch, and uninstalls cleaner than almost all on the others despite running a few of their removal tools, in some instances.
MSEs setup file is merely about 10MB - however the definitions and engine download which starts its use is about 70MB last I looked. Nothing nowadays will be to be much smaller, simply because in the complexity products its fighting.

To work using this type of issue, refer the data provided below.
Your machine struggles to read the SLIC table that must be present inside the BIOS to permit self-activation from the OEMSLP Key in use here.
You must change the key towards the one around the COA sticker around the case of your respective computer or inside battery compartment while using the Change Product Key link at underneath of the System properties page.
To open system properties window, refer the steps below.
d That would open it properties window.
If you'll need to activate by telephone, refer these link.

4 Type: net stop sppsvc It may ask you if you're sure, select yes
Note: the Software Protection service will not be running, it is ok.
10 After a number of seconds Windows Activation dialog look. You could be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your service key or Activation may occur automatically.
Reboot, then run MGADiag again, and post the report
If that doesnt work I suggest you post about the WGA forums.

W e know of the rumors that Windows 7 SP1 is anticipated to arrive during mid-2010 and required to be a variety of patches and updates rolled out till then. One major bug being reported because of the users is the fact that immediately after go browsing, these people were presented having a Windows Activation window: Windows isn't genuine. Your computer most likely are not running a counterfeit copy of Windows. 0x80070005, plus more.
1 The computer desktop background goes black, therefore you receive this error message on the underside right corner from the screen:
3 If you try to use/dlv to look at the licensing status, you receive the subsequent message:
Welcome to Windows 7 Forums. Our forum is focused on helping you find support and solutions for just about any problems with regards to your Windows 7 PC whether it be Dell, HP, Acer, Asus or even a custom build. We also produce an extensive Windows 7 tutorial section that covers a variety of tips and tricks.
Hi, my desktop is a lot of issues and another of them is getting the material thats about the title of the thread.
As a shorter background, the motherboard did actually stop working so I were required to get it fixed, and inside the process of getting my PC to work again, I were required to do a clean install of Windows 7 total of four times including failed ones.
Today, my PC wouldnt react to clicking files, navigation bar such, coupled with to wait a while to get them start responding. I couldnt even hook up with internet, so I tried trouble-shooting option, when I did, of the question message appeared saying This computer is just not running Genuine Windows.
The thing is, Ive already activated but happened to be a genuine mark.
I double checked it from user interface - system and security - system,
And its saying Windows is activated with a real logo thingy in the Windows activation section.
Yet, Im getting this message, and might appear to be its preventing me from installing a few of updates like Service Pack 1 and Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7.
How do I correct it? And whats wrong with my computer?

Hi again, and sorry about not including MGADiag log. I included them now.
You employ a couple of tampered files - which takes care of a multitude of sins.
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should turn up.
At the Command prompt, type
You will probably be told that this drive is locked,
and also the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, after which reboot.
The CHKDSK will require a few hours depending for the size from the drive, so remain calm!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally possibly after having a second auto-reboot -
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should appear.
At the Command prompt, type
Wait for your scan to do - pay attention to any error messages - and reboot.
Copy the file developed to your desktop you cant manipulate it directly and after that compress the copy andattach it for your reply.
Post a whole new MGADiag report with information any error messages encountered.

Oh, and once I turn off or turn within the computer, it often shows me a mistake message saying The file or directory/Program Files/Windows NT/TableTextService is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.

Hi, NoelDP. Just a quick question here.
Is it normal for my computer to consider forever to retort and freeze if this kind of issue happens?
Because it isn't progressing at I was required to wait a lot more than 15min roughly just to open cpanel and now you will need 30min to download CheckSUR file. Had to use Method 2 because windows update from cp wouldnt respond
And my PC looks like it's getting worse every time I shut it down and turn it on.
Now, Windows is showing message you will be a victim of software counterfeit and theres a text Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of Windows isn't genuine on the base right corner with the desktop background.
I believe its genuine since there was no issue of updating Service Pack etc together no problem activating it before when I first installed it.
Im finally running/installing CheckSUR now. Hope it really works.
File and registry errors could cause all sorts of strange problems - it can be that Windows spotted the tampered file and was trying to repair it, or it can be that something was installing inside the background for example your AV update?
The non-genuine notice doesnt surprise me in any way. really the only surprise is it went away!
As far as I can tell from the MGADiag report, theres not any reason to suspect anything dodgy about your cpoy of Windows - its fundamentally the file problems and potential registry issues creating the notification.
