Having had used Kaspersky Internet Security for many years, and it also worked fine. All that changed with 2 things. First was we bought two new computers with Windows 8.1. When I opened my Amazon order of WebRoot Plus I was dismayed to learn that the package was two years out of date.
Fighting the impulse to right away return mobile phone disk on the 2012 version, I carefully peeled off of the factory seal and slipped it into my laptop optical drive. Without Kaspersky inside the way, my best desktop machine was soon ready to go WebRoot and I logged into my account and saw it had registered one 1 computer.
Moving onto my second desktop machine, I uninstalled Kaspersky first, then installed WebRoot and not using a hitch. Logging into my new WebRoot account I saw which it now registered two 2 computers.
Going to my laptop, I raised my WebRoot account and saw so it now registered three 3 computers. So, apparently, while my laptop had intalled WebRoot, the resident Kaspersky had prevented its recognition by my account. Now that Kaspersky was history, everything was rosey. Read more

I have found that Webroot appears to allow my computer to operate faster than other similar products I purchase. It was quick and easy to fit.
