I have noticed this a handful of times recently when running Visual studio using a 64Bit O/S. A simple workround is to put in the 32bit client in your 64Bit development machine.
I am sorry about adding a 2nd answer but if you've 64 bit and 32 bit clients positioned in the same machine chances are you'll encounter this matter too.
