I have tried many home plan programs. I am a novice. This program is fairly easy to start without having to look at entire manual. But if you wish to get more indept within your drawings, you are actually experiencing the many tutorials and manual to assist you out. I will definitely be utilising it to assist me with rooflines, elevations, etc. I would recommend the program to others. Ive used several cheap 3D home design programs Chief Architect, Punch Pro Home Design, Trimble SketchUp 8, Edificius which one and from these five this is easily the top balance between price, features and usability. Its simultaneously more powerful and simpler to learn as opposed to first three. But its nearly perfect. In my attempt to discover a more powerful program I found Edificius, an Italian 3D program that amounted to nothing and it is much more capable but is often a real to know and use than FP3D. But for some reason Edificius wont allow me to import external objects it gives me one so Ive fallen to FP3D Pro which I recently bought just for 20 for v16, the prior version.
Not a great number of in v16 although, Ive yet to discover most of FP3Ds many features:
1. The roof generator is a little glitchy. It works for simple roofs but wont be employed by odd ones. Solution: Use the Roof by picking points option. If that fails then draw a surface towards the desired shape and go into Properties and change it to your roof.
2. The view navigation features walk around, fly around, shop around and slide are VERY sensitive. Move the mouse an excessive amount of and presto, youre off into neverneverland.
3. Youre restricted to only five or six floors with your project, but for being fair, it is a limitation of virtually all home design programs the only real exception seems for being Edificius, which usually allow as much as 1000 floors!. Besides, when you only designing a property 6 floors will likely be enough.

Minor correction by OP: When I specified Floor Plan 3D FP3D I really intended to say TurboFloorplan 3D Home And Landscape Pro version 16 TFP3D. If you Google it youll soon discover a website selling it for the purpose I purchased it for. FWIW, it usually is true of about 40, together with the latest version, TFP3D 2015, selling for around 90. Still well worth the cost, given that comparable professional home design programs typically cost big money!

I bought quite sure after trying and failing to work with a basic CAD application. After calling it company they suggested the program as a simpler means to assist design my new home.
Im not especially computer savvy also it took some tries before I might work with it. It is not too difficult but still time intensive. However, I did be capable of make a basic design that I offered to my builder and in addition they took it beyond this concept to make an even more professional plan.
I do, however, still must work about the detailed plans with the kitchen and bathrooms and believe these aspects in the software program may assist me being ready when I meet while using builder before finishing one more drawings.
I recommend this software for the beginner but wish to caution that it'll take time to complete the drawings that you would like.

I was extremely disappointed together with the Turbo Floor Plan 3D Deluxe V16 Home Design software from IMSI. I have been using different versions upgraded until they stopped which makes it of Floor Plans Plus also developed by IMSI considering that the early 1990s and they also were whilst still being are probably the BEST floor plan programs available. They were very easy to learn and assist, with increased capabilities and fewer complicated steps to generate a superior outcome. I have proven a number of different Floor Plan applications over the past 2 decades including 2 earlier versions of Floor Plan 3D - Both Junk, and Floor Plans Plus was Marketing at heart they include a bunch of crap that isnt necessary making this product more difficult to master a step above the rest and produce the new product tougher to work together with by making you utilize 4 or 5 steps to achieve what that old software did by 50 percent steps. It would be great when they would rewind and glance at the old Floor Plans Plus software and design something which would have its capabilities and usability. I am still looking for any Floor Plan program which will equal Floor Plans Plus.

Very restrictive program. Does not allow different roof lines only pitched roof but no gable ends or single pitch. Garage door option doesn't allow for extra high opening. Trying to make freehand with no wizard is quite slow and cumbersome.
I were built with a cheaper program decade ago that ran on Windows 97 that's much better.
I only wish I could get my money back fat that is just not permitted on software.
Bottom line- keep your money , nor buy whole process almost.

I bought the version 8 of FloorPlan and it will no longer works because I did not register it. When I visited their site to register, support is No longer provided. So, I cant register it and I cant use Apparently just buying their software doesnt afford you any user rights. I would never buy anything from IMSI again. BEWARE!!!!!!!

This is a little misleading in that which you need to know to work with the tool also it doesnt quite do what it really promises. I can think of several different graphical user interface features that would allow it to be monkey simple and this also could really apply it. FYI, the newer version still requires someone to know construction measurement pretty thoroughly to utilize so dont think this may fit the bill until you really learn how to organize walls, floors, etc. in accordance with best construction practice.

I have owned five from the previous versions of TurboFloorPlan and located them totally suitable for each other. Drawings were easily transferred from program to program. Version 17 is really a completely new and different program software. Moving files from previous versions to version 17 can be a gamble at best. Opening them directly just isn't possible. Files must be exported as dxf files AutoCAD type files and after that imported into version 17. The results isn't always guaranteed. You must have the proper computer software, video card, and instructions by your side to possibly achieve ones goal. The final results will not be guaranteed by it manufacturer.
