Although this atlas is often a bit expensive, it truly is an excellent value. A wealth of knowledge is available inside the cover. I expected to determine accurate maps with the world, but so much more info is there. Climates, wind patterns, rainfall, population, and a lot of much more. Even detailed maps on the oceans. Goodes World Atlas 22nd Edition features a tremendous amount as much as date information for your price. The data is not too detailed. If I want more detail then I can turn to individual maps of your specific area. The Atlas contains all of the additional information expected in the atlas like population densities, climates, vegetations etc. It also has ocean floor maps showing basins and ridges. The index gets to 100 pages.

If you need a great atlas that's portable, this is actually the one to get. The maps are detailed and cartographically excellent, showing both topographic shading and elevation by color. Urbanized areas are shown using a red splotch. There are myriad thematic maps. The index is exhaustive and Includes pronunciation guides and latitude and longitude information. The only improvement suggestion I have found will be the need to include Cheji-do island about the Korea map, page 243, perhaps as a possible inset.

I first obtained this book within 1984 if this was on its second edition and value about Р±С‘70 in todays competitive money. I definitely agree with all the other reviewers. This is one heck of the world atlas. The maps are beautifully rendered and along with all sorts of useful information. This would be the revised 3rd edition published in 2003, so things are all pretty much as much as date. I especially such as the fold out maps.
