Posted by tuskel - I used a lttle bit different method for making the wand, since I do not possess a glue gun yet, I are actually looking. I taped together two round ice lolly sticks and trimmed the final for right size. Then I used a sheet of foolscap and double-sided sticky tape, added somewhat more paper for that handle and end, and several twisted strips of d-s sticky tape to the decoration. I covered all of it with kitchen roll and PVA and left to dry. The next day, after it had been dry, I used some acrylic paint to produce it look wooden and added details with golden marker. I know I should have sprayed it with varnish, because following a week of play, the gold has almost rubbed off. It was really bright and shiny when I drew it on, though. Oh well, I need to touch it up a lttle bit.:

That made them very stabil. Then I also covered them layer by layer with papermache strips. I then worked again using the tutorial using hot glue and different materials.

I took it apart and extend the lengths by soldering longer wires into it. I was able to work with the existing battery case and switch in to your bottom with the wand. I had the glue sticks on hand and several left over spray shellac in support of had to obtain 4 bottles of acrylic paint which I found inside the discount bin. The faux wood/bark effect was developed by running the new glue tip back throughout the hardened glue. Thanks again, my daughter loves it.
