I updated my 3gs firmware 3.1.two or three.1.3.I am can not unlock them now.I followed all of the Fix the big mistake 160x i tried and the iphone will not turn white or even a red screen in your iPhone.
but by the end I have the file inside desktop.I tired to look at itunes and install the custom ipsw i am the same error.

heyy use ireb rc 6 for dfu mode then open itunes and restore the firmware from that point worked to me seriously i'd been so sad bfore bt now it worked.

I run Windows XP and searched/put in top browser C:/Documents and Settings Application Data/Apple around my computer and yes it couldn t realize its. I found Mobile Device Support in C:Program FilesCommon FilesApple and supported the file and removed it, and tryed to simply remove it another a serious amounts of both failed with error 1604. am i taking off the wrong file, or am i performing it wrong? can anyone assist me?
I tryed it in my Ipod Touch 2g IOS 4 software.

As for solution 2: got an iphone 3 gs that was knocked out by an accidental upgrade to a few.1.3. Found the file for being deleted on win 7 in appdata/roaming/apple computer/itunes/iphone sofware updates. If I m correct it s the ipsw. Deleted it. Tried to transfer the ipsw created using snwobreeze as well as the ipsw created using pwnage downloaded here by recovery and dfu mode. Nothing worked. Error 1600 or 1604. Seems being no way to jb that bitch!

Tried solution 1 w/o success in dfu and recovery with snowbreezed and pre-pwgned ispw. gets stuck during preparing iphone for recovery and arises with either error 1600 or 1604 dependant upon whether jb was tried via dfu or recovery mode. Seems the sole thing i could do is lose time waiting for redsnow to create a jb for that 3gs or just buy a new iphone must i really need one???.

I m back after the long time tied to an iPhone 3G running OS 3.0, and looking to update to 4.0 IPSW downloaded from a website. successfully are able to put it in recovery mode, but whenever I select ShiftRestore and supply the path for the IPSW, iTunes gets stuck on Preparing iPhone for Restoration something and after the loooong wait, gives error 1604. Tried everything suggested here but no use any ideas?

Error 1600 fix Mac OSX, downgrading from OS4 to a few.1.3.
If you obtain Error 1600 from iTunes or if the truth is in your log a dysfunction to prepare, try: mkdir/Library/iTunes/Device Support ; in the event that directory already exists, remove any files inside it. Then re-run PwnageTool.

I was getting one 29 and I couldn t upgrade from 3.1.three to four.0 or 4.1. Then I couldn t restore 3.1.3 either and I didn t know why.
It ends up that there are hardware complications with my phone because I replaced battery awhile back. I was competent to almost fully restore 3.1.3 nonetheless it would fail towards the end and throw my phone back to a recovery loop. I then used RecBoot multi platform to kick against eachother of the recovery mode as well as the iOS runs fine now.
My experience: some iTunes installs are missing iPhone drivers, leaves the iPhone inside a Recovery Loop error 29. I Uninstalled iTunes 10.0, installed iTunes 10.1, reconnected the iPhone also it was competent to communicate. I did need to take TinyUmbrella to kick it of the Recovery Loop.Peace

Downloaded newest version of iREB. Ran it, went into DFU PWNED mode, no problems. Shift-restored my custom firmware, and bam, Error 1601 again.
I ve tried everything. Doesn t work. Thanks anyways.

HISTORY: my iphone 3GS kept rebooting, so I tried a restore, bang error 29, despite having proper Apple restore nothing helped.
would restore to 80% or maybe to the end and offer me error 29 with Recovery USB Logo.
I restored to IOS 3.1.3, provided error 29, then I used Recboot to have me out with the Recovery Loop, fixed, phone works, However I am on IOS 3.1.3 this is not on IOS 4xx or IOS 5xx
3 Once done, put your phone in DFU Mode through iFaith.
4 Close everything, Open TinyUmbrella, run TTS Server.
5 With Tiny Umbrella still running while using TTS Server, open iTunes.
6 Now perform SHIFT-RESTORE for the SIGNED IPSW that you constructed with iFaith IPSW is usually any IPSW providing it s one from the ones there is a SHSH for.
7 Presto, no longer error 29, I personally restored to IOS 4.3.3 yesterday and yes it worked.
8 you will get error 2, try again, it's going to work.
