When the crew on the Enterprise is named back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from inside their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it is short for, leaving our world within a state of crisis. We need Star Trek Into DEEPNESS, not darkness.
In the movie theatre I heard a complaint from an existing school Trekkie that this second installment with the Star Trek reboot had way too many Little Archie and Veronica moments.
This does work and it will be OK in the event it were only the icing within the cake. The real issue with the movie is that it runs being a typical SciFi action plot inserted within Star Trek banner.
This movie is missing the hallmark epiphany moments Star Trek is renowned for. Mainly, it truly is missing the philosophical WOW factors that don t just shock you but rather expands it, leading you to realise that all you could thought you knew is wrong and that anything you thought the Federation had identified is also wrong. These expansions utilized to pave the opportinity for the audience to mentally and emotionally take that second step to, Boldly go where no man moved
This movie doesn't have epiphany. Where would be the deepness that Star Trek is synonymous with? This movie offers us what? A federation fighting internal corruption and terrorism, a la the conventional disgruntled ex employee, who in such a case was cryogenics frozen for 300 years, out of the box the plot. Big deal. These are familiar themes we ve all observed in movies before. Just trade the Federation for virtually every corrupt financial, medical, educational, government as well as religious institution. Trade the John Harrison character for virtually any Bond villain and you've got a movie that sounds such as a bunch of other movies or the news broadcasts. Boring.
To me the Federation meant a period of time in the future when Humanity had finally gotten its act together and to some certain extent had rooted out all of this corruption and terrorism. Unless a Klingon or Romulan appears, the situation is supposed to get refreshingly illuminating. Not a thing that degrades into ordinary, mainstream, average caveman fist fight showdowns.
How will we boldly go where no man went before later on unless we have now thrown from the shackles on the past? What a sad/shamey day it truly is when a Star Trek movie presents a much less optimistic future equally as dark as today s headlines. I can read/watch the news/The Matrix if I want that. IS THERE NO ESCAPE?!!! IS THERE NO HOPE?!!!
Obviously, Gene Roddenberry s spirit can't find a way to maintain the franchise on target. Will, Vulcan fingers crossed Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike understand the difference between the helpful deepness along with the poverty of darkness?

There work just like opening credits within the film with the exception of the title card, causeing the the second consecutive Star Trek film it doesn't list its cast at first. See more There was not a way that this reboot would avoid all references to either the first series of Star Trek or even the other spin-off series - anyone going into to see this film needed to accept that as being a given. But any cheesy waste which there was clearly relatively people are not blown away because of the sheer beauty and bravado with this film.
I would have been a fairly big Trekkie around my youth, but inside last several years only really kept track of it by watching a number of new episodes occasionally and seeing the top screen outings OK, I admit that I have 10 films on special DVD - 47 was obviously a bargain! - but Abrams vision here has me thinking the modern franchise is going to be even better compared to what has come before.
What made this film special for me personally was not the tale remarkably good, taking into consideration that, like the 1st film in almost any new franchise, it s backbone was character development. What made this film to me was? Can you even call CGI photography? Well, in either case, this film became a visual feast. The way that scale was conveyed was breath-taking. I m uncertain whether I read this somewhere or if I can take credit correctly myself, though the difference came inside the way that Abrams shoved aside the standard Star Trek take a look at Enterprise to be a lumbering naval ship and took a far more Star Wars-esquire dogfight approach. This has set a superior standard for the new era of Star Trek that I hope will spawn no less than a couple more films.
It s not really that I wasn t impressed together with the character development, the acting, the script and the story - it s just until this film looked so gorgeous that I haven t had the capacity to think of other things since I watched it last night! But sufficed to state, it was overall a superb feature. It might not quite deserve a 100% rating, nevertheless it s worth in excess of 90% around my eyes - so, by rounding up, it gets 10/10 from me! Final warning: see this film from the cinema. Do not wait because of it to come out on DVD. It. Will. Not. Do. It. Justice.

by Anthony Pascale, Filed under: Spoilers, Star Trek Into Darkness, trackback The new domestic theatrical trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness is currently online. There are tons of goodies to determine so once more TrekMovie has a deep dive that has a shot-by-shot analysis. Check all of it out below, but be wary of Spoilers.
UPDATE: Did the title cards provide us with the biggest clue yet?
As this can be a fifth trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness, this analysis will focus about the shots that happen to be new, including variations or extended bits from things we have now seen before Shall we start by getting?
Pike: You think you are able to t make a few mistakes. But the choices you make could possibly get yourself and everyone below your command killed but I trust you Jim.
Harrison: Darkness. Is. Coming.
Kirk: This could you should be the beginning.
Admiral Marcus: Beginning products?
Kirk: I request permission to visit after him.
Spock: I cannot enable you to do this.
Kirk: Let s go understand son of the bitch.
Harrison: You are a pawn, Kirk.
Crewperson: Sir, there's a ship heading good for us.
Harrison: You cannot even ensure the safety of ones own crew.
Dreadnought class ship warps when in front of USS Enterprise and it really is huge!
Harrison: Now, shall we start by getting?
Klingon ship fires on civilian shuttle with Kirk, Spock, Uhura and many other crewmen on board
Harrison: No ship moves down without her captain.
Firstly this trailer is clearly made with an even more Trek-friendly audience at heart than the full-length international trailer which happens to be by design. Like that which was done with all the trailers for that 2009 Star Trek film, this trailer targets Kirk and signifies that he is still fighting his command in the Federation s flagship. While other Trek episodes and films especially Star Trek III following a death of his son have demostrated us classic Kirk in distress, Chris Pine s Kirk continues to be on his journey.
The Kirk presented within this trailer reaches time s dejected even apologizing to his crew but additionally determined in a very personal supply of John Harrison. But woven into that is certainly Pike s vision for Kirk that he's got the greatness within him to get that Kirk that we believe.
It is a useful one to finally see some ship-on-ship action with this trailer with Paramount finally revealing another Starship the industry ginormous black Federation ship. And it seems once more the USS Enterprise require a serious beating even a lot more than the damage it took from Nero s Narada in Star Trek 2009.
Overall this can be clearly another big tentpole action movie for that summer. The film seems even bigger as opposed to 2009 Star Trek film. The trailer also presents Into Darkness like a more serious film. While we know you can find humorous elements in the movie they may not be evident out of this trailer. The tagline via title cards makes that clear but includes Star Trek s core message of hope This Summer Beyond The Darkness Lies Greatness.
Reports that Benedict Cumberbatch is really Khan Noonien Singh are actually going because the movie is at production and in many cases before that a lot. Well could it be that this trailer has just one more clue and I m not dealing with those cryo-tubes. The original Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan trailer posesses a voice over which starts Beyond the darkness, in the evening human evolution is Khan. Watch it.
Spock s uniform is mirror-imaged inside trailer SF insignia on his right side, rather compared to left 1:50 over the chase. Maybe reflection in glass, or oopsie
INCREDIBLE. Best trailer yet.
OMG, such a trailer! I can; t await May 17th
I m about to be the 1st to say it. Looking a these trailers as a whole and looking on the size of that ship. I can t begin to see the Enterprise surviving this. I certainly hope I am wrong. I really do. Plus did anybody get a lump of their throats at Scotty s line, The ships dead sir. Shes gone. I did.
That helped me laugh aloud.
31 days and counting. Damn it I can t wait.
Great! Another Narada. Rinse and Repeat. Only difference is that it appears to get yet an a lot more freakishly huge Federation ship.
My Thought Is That Dreadnought Silhouette Looks An Awful Lot Like An Excelsior Class Ship Sorry For The Caps, My Phone Is Acting Weird
13. Tanner The Dude Waterbury - April 16, 2013
Whats together with the wide mouth shots? First Marcus should it screaming, now Harrison does it
I recon the ship is built with the klingons who stole plans from star fleet via defector John, who the Klingon then attempted to screw over at the same time giving him no involvement after that, but John knew all along these were going to achieve that and was all an integral part of his want to steal the ship and blow the hell from people in starfleet HQ who genetically engineered, then abandoned John among others like him as they are too dangerous.
John awakens one other starfleet augments to aid him wage war from the federation.
How often times are they gonna destroy the enterprise? We just got this!
If you click within the shot from the Cryo-tubes, and zoom in for the one front and center, am I really the only one that could sort of go to a face? If you lean your face to your right, you'll be able to sort of figure out the brow and nose of an man s face.
Always love the analysis, thanks guys.
Are the Klingons holding Bat leths because they repel?
Common thing for trailer editors to accomplish flop shots to help keep horizontal action consistent. Won t be flopped within the actual film.
Is it me or does that Dreadnought have kind in the same shape as Enterprise D.
The Dreadnaught-class ship seems like an early/JJverse version with the Galaxy-class, doesn t it? Look in the profile from the saucer as well as the way the engineering hull blends to the saucer.
the klingons look flipping retarded. I was ok while using helmet idea but I really hate that helmet. Oh well, I LOVE the trailer which enables it to t wait to discover it in theater.
I loved another trailers but that is it. The crew, bound together That s trek!
Just one complaint Where the hell is Chekov?
So they still need breakable GLASS doors at that time later on? Why not transparent aluminum?
17 the faces do look human in my opinion.
I wondered concerning the multiple times we ve lost the Enterprise, too. What is- five?
Still, I expect seeing the movie. 31 days left!
I know. Just thought it was interesting especially since that happened with one in the stills iirc. and, again with ZQ for that 2009 movie.
The Dreadnaught is missing that third nacelle however, it seems like it gained a Macross Cannon :-
Is that your Vulcan woman from the shot with Pike with the Starfleet HQ meeting? Sure appears like one.
15: The Enterprise merely has been destroyed twice in 47 years, along with the last time was 19 in years past. Sorry in the event it s all too often.
How s that Kirk promotion exercising for you now, Starfleet? Never send boy to complete mans job.
My theory: After the destruction of Vulcan, Starfleet results in a powerful ship similar to your the Defiant following Battle of Wolf 359, but instead of being helmed by Starfleet officers, it can be supposed to become run by cloned genetic soldiers with the Botany Bay as canon fodder similar towards the Jem Hadar?
30 thrice. 1701-1701 C-1701D.
After lands after jumping down and killing poor Klingons !!!!
The quote from Harrison. You are a pawn Kirk. That sounds exactly as being a quote that Khan Noonien Singh would say! But that of a tick what am i saying. The man IS Khan Noonien Singh!!!!
In the context from the trailer the tubes resemble they can be coffins.
Is it merely me or are there more lens flares from the movie than the past one? You can t even see additional ship properly in the event it warps in because of any giant lens flare!
On the surface of that, the digital camera showing the action once the Enterprise gets attacked acts so spazzy that I can barely see what are the heck is occurring.
More plus much more I m worried that I m likely to not like this movie.
Has anyone heard the cast repeat the name John Harrison? If not then all choices still around the table about just who mike geary is.
Funny, the very first thing I thought of in regard for the new mystery ship was the Enterprise-C. It has been recently bounced around some time and space considerably.
38 Negative. Coffins don t have moisture inside which these do.
So, the ridiculously over-sized Enterprise wasn t enough? They was required to give Starfleet a ship that's around 1.6 kilometers long?! That s as long as being a SW Star Destroyer. Or they have decided to acknowledge the fact which the JJ-Enterprise is better 350m, that produces the dreadnought more such as size of the Sovereign Class ship?
Yes, the trailer looks exciting, but it can be clear that JJTrek has jumped the shark. A Go bigger! starship mentality along with a major rehash of plot points from your last film Kirk loses his command, and possesses to earn it back, much like getting banished inside the last film. An attack on SF, just like the very last film, Enterprise facing a huge ship, exactly like last time only make it appear like they have run beyond originality, and have absolutely just decided to travel with what works, just bigger this time around.
Rather disappointing, overall.
John knew all along these folks were going to achieve that and was all an element of his decide to steal the ship and blow the hell away from people in starfleet HQ who genetically engineered, then abandoned John while others like him as they are too dangerous.
STOP at that time This dreadnought changes everything. Isn t the initial part of the plot ENOUGH now, without involving augments and Khan!?
This movie has absolutely nothing to try and do with Khan and the Botany Bay. It seems fairly clear now, whether or not this wasn t before.
It would have been a ridiculous idea before and yes it s all the more so now. This movie is concerning the Prime Directive, a covert Starfleet organization leveraging Narada technology, and Klingons. No Khan.
That dreadnought seems like Picards Enterprise.
If rumors are to get believed, so how exactly does Leonard Nimoy s Spock prime figure into this?
Not thankful for all those Klingons. Couldn t even defeat a typical human operative of Starfleet Intelligence.
In the shot from the Enterprise warping away in the starbase, it is possible to see another ship docked below, hull number NCC-0718 I believe.
Except for that half-saucer, that ship is dead on TOS style: Matte beige hull color, round nacelles with round red caps, etc.
I don t know if this means nearly anything but I think it is extremely weird: it is the sole TOS-style ship I ve observed in the JJ-verse. Anyone up for a lot of wild speculation concerning what its purpose is?
The voice which says You are a pawn, Kirk. is clearly not Benedict Cumberbatch s voice. Ironically enough that sound clip sounds really old. It looks like Khan s voice. And I agree which the dreadnought ship seems as if Picard s enterprise.
i honest safe music downloads kirk pike moments. BUT hope also, it won

Your path is yours to steer, and yours alone.
They say the more things change, a lot more they stay precisely the same. Thats the ultimate way to introduce Star Trek Into Darkness, a motion picture that absolutely gets everything right and brilliantly re-imagines classic Star Trek lore with pinpoint, precise, and exhilarating modern style filmmaking but additionally with reverence for and adherence to classic Star Trek events and themes, bending and not breaking only one or two of key pieces. Director Abrams and Writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Into Darkness newcomer Damon Lindelof have succeed beyond expectations into two key regions of need, both improving upon their very own Star Trek reboot film and rediscovering the magic from the franchises most memorable villain and, although it is not exactly bettering him, recreating him within the outside and the chilling inner drive of hate, spite, intelligence, and energy that made Khan so unforgettable an adversary. Star Trek Into Darkness blends together key ingredients from your original series episode that introduced Khan with ideas and elements on the feature film that made him a family group name. Combined that has a slew of newly re-imagined drama, action, visuals, and character dynamics, the film plays having an air of familiarity but on the same time a whole new appearance. Yet the one constant would be the films - - plus the new reboot series - - dedication to maintaining Star Trek because it was and will be, not content to simply give it a facelift or a brand new start but positing the supreme in what if alternate scenarios within a universe where anything can happen but where, indeed, things often play out similarly it doesn't matter how much they could seem to vary along the way towards destiny.
The Grandeur from the Galaxy.
Captain Kirk Chris Pine is reprimanded and taken from command from the Starship Enterprise following negligent actions on the globe Nibiru that broke 12 Starfleet foibles. His advocate and longtime friend, Admiral Pike Bruce Greenwood, should be to replace him as Enterprise Captain. Kirk should be to remain about the ship as Pikes first officer, meaning a reassignment for Commander Spock Zachary Quinto to a different vessel. Circumstances change any time a terrorist attack destroys a Federation archive and decimates Federation command. Ultimately, Kirk regains command in the Enterprise which is ordered to search for, with extreme prejudice, the consumer responsible for your attack, a person named John Harrison Benedict Cumberbatch. The Enterprise, under orders from Starfleet Admiral Alexander Marcus Peter Weller, is outfitted by having an arsenal of advanced torpedoes to help you carry out the mission. The crew travels deep into enemy territory but, along the route, unravels reality behind the attack, the attacker, as well as the greater purpose both serve, these all lead Kirk and crew in a dangerous and seemingly no-win scenario against two unstoppable forces.
Star Trek Into Darkness takes some time for you to really get rolling. Its a little slow out in the gate, not regarding kinetic action or excitement in building the narrative, its characters, and also the wider universe essential to satisfy the story plot requirements and, ultimately, explode to a final hour of unforgettable action made using fresh ideas and from memories resurfaced and re-imagined, sourced from previous Khan-centric Trek but recreated with both a novelty and respect which will please fans of the types. Abrams seems to capture the identical enthusiasm and excitement of his last Star Trek film, here multiplied somewhat, even, and devoid of the benefit of that films unseen freshness but with all the familiar universe flair that helped make 2009s Star Trek a real monumental success. Even in foregoing a completely original story in favor of an blend between newly imagined and newly re-imagined, Into Darkness creates an incredible ride with deep emotional pull from the end, punctuated by intensive action and immersive character drama. After the pieces fall under place within the primary hour - - both people who fans of classic Trek will immediately recognize alongside the images well-balanced barrage of the latest ideas and scenarios - - the film suddenly shifts and delivers definate action which will please essentially the most demanding new viewer while satisfying, even dazzling, audiences possessing what Star Trek was and, as a result of Abrams vision, 's still. The mixture of latest and old - - of major scenes recreated, of subtleties incorporated, of daring new visions of your new frontier, of little nods to Trek lore referenced throughout including a hint at something first introduced in Deep Space Nine - is spectacular, brought together which has a love and appreciation for that history of Star Trek but here envisioned using a modern style which makes it feel new, however much of it's or will not be, the truth is, truly new.
The total meshing of the latest and old is exemplified in Khan. While you'll find events, scenarios, lines, dramatic occurrences, and actions that recall Space Seed and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, it is the villains presence that embodies the film does so well. Certainly fans will debate the characters appearance, losing his traditional ethnic heritage in favor of a streamlined and polished, even unremarkable figure. Neither is Khan so devilishly charming as Ricardo MontalbР±ns take about the character within the late 1960s and also the early 1980s. Bringing him back and making several changes is a higher risk/high reward proposition, installing altering the physical heritage but even looking to reincorporate what may be the franchises most prominent villain crafted both by superb writing plus the finest performance within the entirety of Star Trek, with apologies for the likes of Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Avery Brooks, Jeffrey Combs, Andrew Robinson, and Marc Alaimo. Benedict Cumberbatch is not any Ricardo MontalbР±n, for better or worse, even so again he doesnt have being. The beautiful thing regarding the way Abrams with the exceptional writers have re-envisioned this Star Trek universe will be the liberty they have to play with ideas, to mold them differently but store them fundamentally a similar. Whether theyve gone too far with Khan expires for debate, however the end result is deeply satisfying even whether it strays from Trek lore any amount further than every other element so far affecting the series. Cumberbatch absolutely commands the screen and dominates perhaps the primary cast together with his presence, much precisely the same as MontalbР±n did in Star Trek II. Hes self-assured and here, while much less much physically imposing or darkly terrifying beyond his exterior, less than reliant pun most definitely intended on his crew but almost entirely on himself. Again, its that mantra of things changing but staying exactly the same that helps the character and also the movie one of the most. Into Darkness tries, and succeeds, at being Star Trek at its core and regardless of just what the outside appears to be, folding in waste Roddenberrys, Meyers, MontalbР±ns, Cumberbatchs and Abrams visions in a hugely entertaining and satisfying picture in every single area.
As with Abrams previous Star Trek movie, Into Darkness also preps micro levels, whether employed in subtle jokes about red shirts the priceless look on Chekovs face when hes ordered to put on a red shirt will be worth the cost of admission alone, almost like he knows that it is the mark of certain death in Star Trek lore, a briefly seen model with the Enterprise NX-01, and the casts capacity to not parrot but alternatively fully embody the series classic characters. The performance subtleties are uncanny. The cast gels together beautifully, every one in the actors capturing the essence of the characters namesake, keeping them very familiar but lending a rather new vibe for them, whether it is through circumstantial development, relationships, environmental influences, or perhaps the actors own little touches towards the parts, none that hinder or harm canon. Into Darkness remains a character-driven film, as Trek has long been, using its primary theme, this indicates, being Kirks brashness and unwillingness to perform things through the book. Its a reflection with the cowboy almost mentality that defined Shatners interpretation and portrayal from the character, which is the reason the logical, procedural Vulcan, Spock, will be the perfect friendly foil and McCoy the greatest, albeit sarcastic, balance involving the brashness plus the logical calmness. In Into Darkness, Kirk is reprimanded for breaking freed from protocol, bending rules, and ignoring regulations by doing things his way, not Starfleets way, leading to not only his admonishment however the proclamation that hes not prepared for command. No surprise, it will come full circle with Kirk - - and the shipmates - - instructed to choose, on several occasions, duty or moral obligation, following orders or procedure or dismissing them in favor of your instinct or doing what one knows for being right. Ultimately, these choices bring the crew closer together when they choose whats right, regardless of repercussions, particularly to themselves. All of that contrasts with all the selfishly manipulative Khan who, like Kirk, ignores the policies not to follow his moral compass but to increase his agenda of genocide and in the cost in the further degradation of whatever soul his genetically engineered body may house.
Abrams 2009 Star Trek was neither photographed nor presented in 3D, with the exceptional 2013 Star Trek Into Darkness wasnt photographed in native 3D, either. Instead, Into Darkness was reconstructed as 3D following fact, even whether or not this, arguably, didnt need to get. The good news is how the conversion is effective enough which is certainly greater than most. The bad news is that it doesnt add much, if any, impact for the experience. Generally, the 3D adds cursory, though occasionally dynamic, depth towards the image. There are the common well-defined spaces between characters and objects, by more spectacular shots facing bottom-up or top-down that start being active . extra flair to your particular shot. There aren't any gimmick shots, and in many cases those that seems to benefit most from 3D - - the nose of an torpedo in front on the camera or perhaps arm extending for the lens - - really dont have that wow factor opting for them, that sense that theyre extending past the limitations in the screen. Volcanic ash and sparks dance around, behind, plus in front with the screen within a early scene to nice effect, ditto a later string of shots that relate space debris floating through the viewing field. The warp field effects do benefit, a little, through the added space, the 3D elements selling the blurred tunnel visual thats become something of your trademark for that rebooted series. Otherwise, theres little here of note. The review equipment did display minor crosstalk, or ghosting, throughout areas of the film, but to not ever destructive or largely distracting effect. The traditional display quality values dont suffer much within the added 3D layer. Colors remain bold and exquisite, though the hair watered down compared on the 2D-only release. Details, too, remain crisp and well presented, though again there appears to get an ever-slight downgrade when it comes to precise details at abdominal muscles top on the scale. Fortunately, black levels never falter, a common downside to other, lesser 3D transfers. All in all, it isn't a terrible experience by any stretch with the imagination, plus it certainly has its own moments, but dont expect for being dazzled in what is an admittedly good, but largely unnecessary, 3D conversion.
From the opening notes of Michael Giacchinos now-familiar Star Trek reboot theme, its clear that Star Trek Into Darkness Dolby TrueHD 7.1 soundtrack means business, and this business is sonic perfection. The track presents every element - - in the broadest action effect and largest musical score piece to your most nuanced sound effect and ambient support detail - - with striking clarity. The track is large, rich, and perfectly defined through the top on the highs towards the deepest in the lows. As using the previous Star Trek soundtrack, that one is aggressive and potent without going overboard. Balance makes perfect; never once does bass overwhelm the track, but never would it shy away from delivering the type of pounding, naturally punishing presentation various scenes demand. Theres excellent heft to phaser fire as well as the digital splattering percussion of hits to flesh. Space battles are a whole lot larger, with dynamic blast effects and deep, high-yield bass in support. Explosions pack an abundance of wallop, too. Musical delivery is seamlessly balanced across the stage, naturally enveloping the target audience and building a true 360-degree sound field. The musical surround elements arent as pronounced as those placed within the front nonetheless they do offer the main speakers on the appropriate level. Paramounts lossless soundtrack additionally carries movement with precision; the flow of your effect in one speaker on the next is extraordinary, and specific sound placement round the stage is definitely precise, whether splashed beforehand or immersing from the back. Dialogue plays with firm center presence and natural clarity in every single scene, whether intimate dialogue in a very quiet location or beneath the pressures of loud vocals or explosive action. This is often a spectacular track in each and every area as well as the perfect compliment to a fantastic film which makes use of every last amount of sound at its disposal.

Star Trek Into Darkness tops its 2009 predecessor in just about any way, a challenging task to get sure since films excellence. Into Darkness is large in scope, infinitely fun, dramatically sound, and also well balanced regarding recreating critical pieces from Space Seed and The Warth of Khan and combining all of them new ideas and new execution of favorite old moments, which there are a great number of to mention and in the cost of spoiling the surprises. The performances are perfect, the action is insanely exciting, the effects are seamless, plus the drama is top-notch. Its the perfect Summer blockbuster along with a film casual audiences and Star Trek die hards alike will adore, even when the film is absent the thematic subtext of A Tale of Two Cities that brought the first sort Khan film full circle. But then again, Into Darkness tells another story for just a different time featuring its own themes built around other classic Star Trek, and innately human, themes. Paramounts Blu-ray 3D discharge of Star Trek Into Darkness features reference level audio, strong video, and good, yet not memorable, 3D visuals. A small but enjoyable choice of extras are included, however the absence of your commentary track or tracks, deleted scenes, and also a larger production documentary is disappointing. Nevertheless, this release comes strongly suggested with desires for an expanded special later on in the future.
