The SolidWorks 2003 Tutorial and MultiMedia CD book is often a good book, it needs some other explanation.
Not a negative book for starters, but only when you have some prior knowledge.

This was the perfect program tutorial Ive ever read. My boss is often a designer, and not a very computer savvy one. So thats where I entered. I am fairly proficient with computers, but I don't have any knowledge of drafting principles or design concepts. With this tutorial, I can now confidently plot any image on the 2D sheets he provides me with. It was super easy to follow through - no foreign terms left unexplained, diagrams on each page. Of course, it didnt teach every aspect of the program but a majority of everything else can be discovered with your own knowing the basics from the book.
My only complaint is usually that the drawing in the final project is usually a bit vague with regards to where to place some on the components, but right at that moment, youve already learned this program.
Dont expect to master anything about drafting or get caught up industry lingo.
This could be the perfect book for learning the ins and outs on the computer program. It took me of a week for getting through the publication. The corresponding CD Rom tutorial was pretty useless, aside from providing some with the images you need with the final project. It basically reads the ebook out loud for you, along with the book is very easy you just read its quite unnecessary
