The image quality is superb, and I feared with the speakers in my TV during Cozys solo that of a great way to remember him at his peak such would be the volume. Dio can be at his peak, and you are able to even start to comprehend the work of Daisley and Stone more properly. I was critical of latter day Rainbow properly Blackmore from the reformed Purple occasionally, but hopefully watching this you may begin to learn why. No dodging the problem here. The man just rules activity is. Hes responsible for all, using performance where he wants, driving the set. It was on performances similar to this that his reputation, developed over the six or seven years in Purple, was capped; solid playing, underpining the tracks, then bursting out with loud riffy runs, gentle calm solos, pushing rock guitar with the edges. Bliss. And to view the glorious stage rainbow completely flight just returns so many memories with the 76 and 77 tours. Frankly, no Blackmore or Rainbow fan should hesitate to get a second. SR

I love Blackmore, I love the many Blackmores nights albums, each previous concert Ive visited has been excellent. The show yesterday evening however left me feeling nothing except bewildered. The band played fine, Candice sang fine, but the complete sound was missing guitar, it turned out turned way down as well as if it have been turned up all Blackmore was doing was doodling round the frets instead of playing almost anything to enhance many of the songs. He may also have not appeared.
Having declared the involving song banter was excellent and also entertaining, Blackmore completely mischievous mode. However when they did start to play a song I found I lost interest. The only exceptions were Diamonds and Rust, which Candice sings nicely, and Toast to Tomorrow which have the energy and sound of Blackmore which the rest from the performance lacked. All in all an OK, relaxed performance which needed more Blackmore - or dare I say it a rhythm guitarist allowing Blackmore to simply doodle for the guitar without losing the appearance of the songs. review: Scott Price
