I realize its incredibly incredible that I spent 60 on an issue that I cant even log into to experience. My first city that I spent time on was lost forever caused by server issues at EA. Oh, and begin to forget trying to get a fast game in if your server where your save resides is either full or busy. I only wanted to try out a quick game, completely solo, and am instructed to wait and wait and wait and wait. And dont believe the 20-30 min timer. Sometimes even which is incorrect.
Shame upon you EA. For the last decade I have watched you slowly turn this industry in a wasteland. And now as part of your latest attempt in attempting to stick to your corporate policy of crushing any situation that closely resembles the human beings spirit, you could have turned SimCity right into a 60 thirty minute countdown and server status app. Awesome.
I spent this money because I still needed to support Maxis. After all, I knew as a kid a lot of Maxis games that I absolutely loved. Still do. But this? This is probably one of many dumbest things EA and Maxis might have ever done. If its feasible for me to even have a refund, I want it. Its a regrettable day whenever your brand new shiny City-Sim game on todays modern computers cant even hold a candle to its 120 month old predecessor. Sim City 4 I have already been waiting in anxious anticipation for SimCity because the moment I stumbled on its existence. All of those tiny little frusrating areas of SC4 would finally get updated, and now we would finally develop the SimCity weve been having dreams about. Surely, with several years to research and discover what their loyal fans truly loved around the City building series, there was clearly no way EA could fail at building a truly wonderful, classic game that might hold up being a true joy to experience for years to come.
But instead, EA scrapped all this. They tore everything we loved around the game down, and gave an impostor the SimCity franchise title instead. A truly awful game with the highest order. In summary, EA, here's everything learn about wrong:
1. The biggest element in enjoying my game, normally the one true aspect that ok, i'll endlessly experiment, was removed. You killed a child inside me.
The one that remembers playing SimCity. The first one. Who recalls fondly a childhood of Sim games, spending long spaces of time on my Compaq 486 sx33 living simulated lives in simulated bliss. I played each of the iterations: I built carnivals and zoos and I even went as much as to adore SimAnt. Anyone remember SimAnt? You were a yellow ant. And Ant Simulated Ant things. I did that.
Over the time, as I grew in an adult, SimCity grew beside me. Through every evolution, I enjoyed it. I bonded by using it. I imagined living in an Arcology some day, within the distant future. Maxis, you stimulated my impressionable mind and provided me with critical thinking skills as well as a grounded conduit for my creativity.
For dozens of years, I am thankful. I even played The Sims a tad, but became busy being a adult and living a non-simulated life.
When I read in regards to year ago there would be described as a new SimCity game, I was ecstatic. I immediately sent links to my childhood friends, started reading every piece I could about this, and gleefully watched sneak previews on YouTube. I was excited.
