Hello all. Looking for any little help. I have owned Silent Hunter 3 and 4 for sometime and played it in this little 6 year-old laptop. Santa was nice for me and I got a fresh laptop with windows it and patched up but when I traveled to start it I got a communication saying it the OS must be of an older version XP and older. Thought it ran fine on my own old laptop I was taxing the graphics as well as the game itself would be a little slow and sluggish from time to time. I really hope there exists a way to get this to function on Windows 8 so I lack to mothball my Silent Hunter games.
Any advise could well be appreciated. Any technical advise I warn at this point you will have for being dumbed down a little

If SH3 doesnt meet your needs, dont throw in the towel. Try SH4 and pay attention to if that works. SH3 is a lttle bit older then SH4.

therefore the smart thing I did was make an attempt to find this archived file on my small old time I found it, that it was some download manage that I had to set up their the final one had not even attempt to do with this particular file I am looking I uninstall my old laptop does nothing! cant open any programs, cant hop on the internet, cant do a process restore, cant even get almost anything to run in safe old laptop has changed into a boat the SH3 game.

NOTICE - some recent re-presses with the Silent Hunter III disc happen to be patched for the latest version - 1.4b.
So if youve bought the experience recently, you will possibly not need the patch.
Load the experience and look at the version number displayed within the lower-right corner with the main menu screen.
In that folder, locate, right select it, select Properties, then switch towards the Version tab. If its patched to just one.4b you must see this:
1.4.0.1 means its patched to version 1.4b
If it's just not version 1.4b, download and install the proper patch see below.
If you choose to do need to patch your game, the modern and final patch is 1.4b, which you'll download here.
Patch 1.4b may be installed directly in the stock game - you choose to do NOT need any previous patches to fit 1.4b patch! You must install the patch when you install any mods.
NOTE - there exists a small error inside the 1.4b patch - the installer windows says the patch is version 1.3. This is just a typing error when the devs made the patch - it is really version 1.4b! You can check this on SH3s main menu screen after applying the patch - it ought to say 1.4b from the lower-right corner in the screen.
EMEA DVD: This patch is designed for the retail boxed version bought in Europe, Middle East or Asia.
EMEA Download: This patch is designed for the downloaded version for European, Middle Eastern or Asian users.
US DVD: This patch is made for the retail boxed version bought inside the US or Canada.
