This may be the worst interface design I have ever seen. With all the wasted space and scrolling and multiclicking needed to manage this
mess, it appears to be designed by some DONT they put the data on the screen as an alternative to forcing one to SCROLL or drop down context menus for this. The lack of gridlines causes many wasted time scrolling forwards and backwards to verify that you'll be tick/unticking the right thing. The design is bland and uninteresting, like someone sucked living out of itwhich is really what trying to make use of this version can do to you.
So disappointing! What are they thinking??
If the most notable managers of Checkpoint were forced to take advantage of this, heads would again, maybe those are the designers.

No redeeming features whatsoever. The only saving grace is that you may backup your settings then uninstall this product and revert with an earlier, working, reliable in comparison with 10/2012 version eg ZoneAlarm 8 Pro or ZoneAlarm 9 Pro.
Mangles or drops received data packets eg corrupts web images.
Causes PuTTY SSH WinSCP connection drop-outs from corrupted/dropped session packets, timed-out connections etc. Doesnt matter perhaps the connected method is right next to your account or in opposition of the world.
Doesnt may actually reliably disable Windows built-in firewall.
Game Mode Allow still blocks or mangles connections.
Ive been a loyal ZoneAlarm client for decades. I had thought their free firewall product was robust, simple, reliable. As I needed a few of the advanced features hard to get at in the free edition, I upgraded to ZA Pro dating back to ZA Pro v6.5, and also have renewed my support/maintenance subscription religiously, figuring that my money can be going to keep the continued continuing development of a superior product.
Regrettably, the standard of each version since roughly 8.0/9.0 has decreased, until Im recommending people investigate alternative firewall products, particularly if running Windows in the 64 bit environment.
The browser virtualisation ie isolation or sandbox facility is broken, and makes browsing the online world a hit-and-miss affair. Youre more well off running Firefox or Chrome because of their own integrated segregation facilities.
The installer does NOT honour the options you make. eg You de-select various ZoneAlarm browser add-ins toolbars, virtualisation etc, yet ZoneAlarm still installs them and integrates them.
Finally, it eventually bogs the networking protocol stacks down a lot that when traffic flows, its glacial in pace and at last Windows will blue screen and reboot.
Checkpoints customer satisfaction is a joke. If you actually get someone, they just provide stock or rote answers. They dont manage to have to be able to analyse aside from resolve any real problems beyond I cant install ZoneAlarm.
In short, avoid this malodorous part of software such as the plague. Dont waste your cash on this product, spend your hard-earned buckazoids elsewhere.

I would have been a HUGE Zone Alarm fan and tried on the extender to protect every PC within my house for merely 10 years. It was this can be the best firewall and threat protection software available and worth the cost. It was easily configurable for novice users, but had lots of advanced configuration selections for more advanced users. In ONE single release v10 - 2012, now it is the WORST software available on the market. Get it together Check Point, you only lost another customer!

Absolutely NONE, I would provide a ZERO Star rating but it really doesnt appear that the possible to do this.
Horribly broken installation, Unprofessional interface, Worthless being a personal firewall, bears no resemblance as to the used to be arguably the most beneficial firewall available.
I HAD been a ZoneAlarm user as it first hit the industry over ten years ago.
What CheckPoint has done from what used as a stellar application is highly recommended a criminal offense.
It can be an insult to your millions of loyal customers.
This setup is horribly broken. The app itself rule isn't followed as advertised and may hose the body.
It is really as if a used-car salesman become this product manager at Check-Point.
Avoid ZoneAlarm no matter what. It is PURE JUNK.
As an expert developer I find the reality that CNET allows this for download inexcusable.
I must now question the validity in ANYTHING that CNET says.
I have switched to Comodo.
CheckPoint has blown it BIG TIME on this version.
SO far, they dont seem to care that it newest version with the Firewall is pure junk.
Customer service is nonexistent.
Support doesn't seem possible as their Web Chat doesnt work and it normally won't allow new users to write on their forums.
Support is fixed to a 67 years old SysAdmin in Texas.
Im not joking, it is absolute truth.

Excellent review, you told it the way in which I see it too. This latest version hogs up a great deal bandwidth that while it's on it is beside impossible to view netflix movies at will without the video being choppy, the first sort version never caused any problems but this newest version sucks system resources in a major way. And you're right, the moderators with the so called help forum is not going to allow newbies to post and have questions, so forget that option! I have been a zonelabs fan for decade but now it's once again time for a change, they've already took an excellent program and bloated it making it it a resource hogging bit of junk. You get no support due to this program. My DSL speed is 1.5mb download 256k upload and I am able to look at streaming videos on netflix without the need of troubles so long as this software is turn off totally. Win XP sp3 2gigs ram.

How different to Symantec! They couldnt be a little more helpful should they tried. I had used all of my 3 activations of NIS 2012, when I rebuilt my PC, it was an IM far from a techie to reset my account. I was reactivated for the rebuilt PC within ten mins. 10/10 to Symantec.

I spent almost 1.5 hours on LiveChat with two different customer support reps but without the need of resolution. Neither rep showed any curiosity about solving the issue. I had to see them too many times what version I was on, my computer OS, even my chip speed. The most suggestions they made was reset defaults after which reinstall. So 1980s.
They a variety of excuses which range from my version hasn't been the latest - however update program installed it - to they have to have downloaded in my opinion a dial-up version. Huh?
Their chat system was horrible - giving me constant erroneous canned comments along with the reps saying they were not getting my responses.
The reps showed no support services care with no technical expertise.
I requested my cash back under their advertised guarantee nonetheless they said I did not qualify.
I called my local internet provider and numerous folks that staff said they hear complaints regularly about Zone Alarm. They had me unistall Zone Alarm and install AVG Free. Now my computer is back to its old self and I am happy!

While it may be a superb idea to uninstall Zone Alarm if it can be slowing your personal computer, it is most likely the effect of a conflict with many other program, granted you might be running your working computer that meets the min. system requirements for Zone Alarm.
