This would be the worst interface design I have ever seen. With all the wasted space and scrolling and multiclicking instructed to manage this
mess, seems like designed by some DONT they put the info on the screen rather than forcing someone to SCROLL or drop down context menus because of it. The lack of gridlines causes plenty of wasted time scrolling forward and backward to verify you are tick/unticking the proper thing. The design is bland and uninteresting, like someone sucked the life span out of itwhich 's what trying to make use of this version will perform to you.

Ive been a loyal ZoneAlarm client for a long time. I had thought their free firewall product was robust, simple, reliable. As I needed a number of the advanced features out of stock in the free edition, I upgraded to ZA Pro way back to ZA Pro v6.5, and still have renewed my support/maintenance subscription religiously, figuring that my money could be going to offer the continued continuing development of a superior product.
Regrettably, the caliber of each version since roughly 8.0/9.0 has decreased, enough where Im recommending people investigate alternative firewall products, particularly if running Windows in a very 64 bit environment.

I was obviously a HUGE Zone Alarm fan and tried it to protect every PC during my house for nearly 10 years. It was fundamentally the best firewall and threat protection software in the marketplace and worth the cost. Absolutely NONE, I would perform a ZERO Star rating however it doesnt appear that it is possible for doing that.

Excellent review, you told it precisely how I see it too. You get no support due to this program. My DSL speed is 1.5mb download 256k upload and I am able to see streaming videos on netflix without the need of troubles providing this software is shut down totally. Win XP sp3 2gigs ram.

How different to Symantec! They couldnt be a little more helpful as long as they tried. I had used all of my 3 activations of NIS 2012, however, if I rebuilt my PC, it was an IM from a techie to reset my account. I was reactivated around the rebuilt PC within 10 mins. 10/10 to Symantec.

Prior years programs were acceptable.

I purchase Zone Alarm for pretty much two years on the other hand latest update slowed my computer into a CRAWL! I spent almost 1.5 hours on LiveChat with two different customer satisfaction reps but without having resolution. Neither rep showed any fascination with solving the situation. I had to share with them many times what version I was on, my computer OS, even my chip speed. The most suggestions they made was reset defaults then reinstall. So 1980s.
They a variety of excuses including my version hasn't been the latest - however their update program installed it - to they need to have downloaded in my experience a dial-up version. Huh?
Their chat system was horrible - giving me constant erroneous canned comments and also the reps saying they were not getting my responses.
The reps showed no customer care care no technical expertise.
I called for my a reimbursement under their advertised guarantee but they also said I did not qualify.
I called my local internet provider and numerous people that staff said they hear complaints regularly about Zone Alarm. They had me unistall Zone Alarm and install AVG Free. Now my computer is returning to its old self and I am happy!
I aspire to save another person from experiencing my unacceptable experience.

While it may be a great idea to uninstall Zone Alarm if it's slowing your pc, this can be most likely caused by conflict with many other program, granted you're running some type of computer that meets the min. system requirements for Zone Alarm. Using AVG Free rather than Zone Alarm is similar to leaving your doors unlocked in a very bad neighborhood, even if you bought a gun. They both do two something more important. Zone Alarm is primarily a firewall, and AVG Free is surely an antivirus. The firewall is made to bar unwanted connections both to and from your personal machine or network, an antivirus is always to help detect which will help prevent malicious software from running on your personal computer. If either you or AVG Free let something slip through like spyware or another unwanted guest. A firewall can help prevent the offer from being capable to make any connections. I used Zonealarm firewall for along time so I expected good items from the anti virus. I was disappointed. Updating virus data was erratic. It caught fewer intrusions than AVG. Then they released a plan update that refused to fit on Win XP. It claimed SP3 hasn't been present though it was.
