Introducing ZBrush, however, will receive a good workout. Although Ive been impressed because of the work made by ZBrush, Ive never been a fan with the interface or workflow and so have used it relatively little as of yet. Eric Kellers book causes it to become all less intimidating. His book covers the many basics, plus includes ample step-by-step guides. The illustrations and example models certainly are a step above many 3D books. Im also pleased to see instructions for importing from and exporting to Maya ZBrush displacement maps look wonderful in Maya. The DVD includes models, materials, textures, movies, tools, and macros, including a trial of ZBrush 3. Admittedly, there is often a wealth of ZBrush information on the internet. However, if you would prefer to have a book on hand and will want to not slog through forums for quick answers, this book can be a good investment. If I stood a wish, it will be that more in the illustrations were in color, and never black-and-white.
