Heres an issue that goes unnoticed sometimes by Xara artists, but one simple step can create a tremendous difference in Bevel sides any time a bitmap fill is employed. Youll notice inside your work along with Figure 20 which the Chiseled sides with the Bevel logo are a bit darker in certain areas than youd like, and pale in others. Changing the Contrast within the Infobar wont rectify the shading on the sides; that is just significant limitation in the Bevel tool when bitmaps are utilized.
To enhance the shading on these areas almost dramatically you destroy the dynamic property in the Bevel effect by choosing Arrange Convert to Editable Shapes; CtrlShiftS would be the shortcut.
