SOMERSET Christopher Murphy, a well-known and outspoken citizen whos often clashed while using Board of Selectmen, was issued a harassment prevention order in Fall River District Court back off from Selectman Scott Lebeau for 6 months.
Judge Thomas Barrett gave the transaction on Sept. 4 after the hearing through which both parties along with their witnesses appeared and gave testimony, based on the court file.
Murphy, 42, of 268 Longhill Ave., is ordered to not abuse or harass the plaintiff, Lebeau; conditionally lodge at least 50 yards from him; and remain far from Lebeaus residence at 1196 County St.
The final order will not prevent Murphy, a citizen activist who helped initiate several unsuccessful ballot questions to cancel out the Board of Selectmens authority from the past year, from addressing any public meeting or hearing. Hed have to follow directions in the presiding officer.
Murphy on Sept. 19 appealed the legal court finding.
It upheld a basic prevention order issued by Judge Kevin Finnerty on Aug. 22, when Lebeau filed for court action.
Violation from the harassment prevention order is really a misdemeanor punishable with a fine, jail or both.
In mid-July, Lebeau filed a complaint with town police and spoke about it in a selectmans meeting after believing Murphy may have taken cellphone photos toward his yard and home where his children were playing, his statement said.
He filed another complaint on Aug. 22 at police headquarters after a young morning encounter with Murphy whilst getting coffee with friends with a sandwich shop on County Street.
Lebeau told Patrolman Adam Da Rosa he believed Murphy, while reading a newspaper, was videotaping him on the coffee shop. Da Rosa, assisted with the newly appointed police chief, George McNeil, advised Lebeau he could make application for an harassment order, that they did.
Another incident Lebeau reported to police on Aug. 13 after the selectmens meeting involved allegations Murphy put a bumper sticker for Joseph Ferreira the recently retired police chief who ran successfully for Governors Council and whom Murphy supported and Lebeau opposed on Lebeaus truck.
Murphy told police he failed to place the bumper sticker about the truck.
Reports stated police officers took fingerprints on the bumper sticker on Lebeaus truck. No evidence arrived.
Somerset police incident reports list Murphys occupation as being a correctional officer.

Yeah, I know, state farm is often a bit anachronistic, but I can experience being remembered being a State Farm Its MCIB in your case young pups, and from now on its referred to as the Complex. We just lost two, Fuzzy and T-Wick. Two good men with increased life and love bewteen barefoot and shoes for all that knew them. Fuzzy was obviously a Bughouse CO along with a MArine, and T-Wick started in the bughouse as being a mental health worker, later wearing blue in the Hill - Walpole, Cedar-Junction, The Big House, The Pole. SOMERSET Christopher Murphy, a well-known and outspoken citizen whos often clashed while using Board of Selectmen, was issued a harassment prevention order in Fall River District Court to step back from Selectman Scott Lebeau for 6 months.
Judge Thomas Barrett gave your order on Sept. 4 after having a hearing by which both parties along with their witnesses appeared and gave testimony, in line with the court file.
Murphy, 42, of 268 Longhill Ave., is ordered to never abuse or harass the plaintiff, Lebeau; conditionally lodge at least 50 yards from him; and remain from Lebeaus residence at 1196 County St.
The final order doesn't prevent Murphy, a citizen activist who helped initiate several unsuccessful ballot questions to cancel out the Board of Selectmens authority from the past year, from addressing any public meeting or hearing. Hed have to follow directions with the presiding officer.
Murphy on Sept. 19 appealed a legal court finding.
It upheld a preliminary prevention order issued by Judge Kevin Finnerty on Aug. 22, when Lebeau filed for court action.
Violation on the harassment prevention order is often a misdemeanor punishable by way of a fine, jail or both.
In mid-July, Lebeau filed a complaint with town police and spoke about it in a selectmans meeting after believing Murphy may have taken cellphone photos toward his yard and home where his children were playing, his statement said.
He filed another complaint on Aug. 22 at police headquarters after an early on morning encounter with Murphy whilst getting coffee with friends in a sandwich shop on County Street.
Lebeau told Patrolman Adam Da Rosa he believed Murphy, while reading a newspaper, was videotaping him on the coffee shop. Da Rosa, assisted with the newly appointed police chief, George McNeil, advised Lebeau he could make an application for an harassment order, that he did.
Another incident Lebeau reported to police on Aug. 13 from a selectmens meeting involved allegations Murphy put a bumper sticker for Joseph Ferreira the recently retired police chief who ran successfully for Governors Council and whom Murphy supported and Lebeau opposed on Lebeaus truck.
Murphy told police he failed to place the bumper sticker about the truck.
Reports stated police officers took fingerprints on the bumper sticker on Lebeaus truck. No evidence resulted in.
Somerset police incident reports list Murphys occupation as being a correctional officer.
