However, as I stated in my original entry, I had to re-image my older DELL PC with all the licensed copy of XP Pro that came with all the PC and require to upgrade to SP3 eventually. The XP Pro SP1a download within Microsoft keeps failing from server at 1106a.
I have tried numerous times to do the download using the above mentioned link, but am struggling to download XP Pro SP1a on account of Microsoft server failures using the connection above.
Is there another server address/link available and other approach besides downloading SP1a? Im getting nowhere using the download.

Tech-Geek, many thanks for taking the time to download the SP1a file and prepare it for my use.
Sorry for indicating something was answered, if it isnt. Dont know how that happened, since I am unaware of posting entries within the blogs, and have no idea how to undo it. I am sending this response from my other PC, not usually the one I attempting to resurrect.
Anyway, in the event the download begins, it seems to work fine. After my system does the backup prior on the upgrade, I go to a pop-up window state Downloading files and patches. This would be the download that fails. After about 30 secs, I get a msg stating The server didn't respond. It says to retry the download a couple of times and if unsuccessful, go for the XP Service Pack website and select Problems Downloading the Service Pack. I havent situated on this internet site any additional instructions for the best way to download without requiring a web site connection during mobile phone.
The PC where I am seeking to rebuild it environment just has Windows XP Pro, driver updates, DVD and CD burning software installed which is it. It is just not a functioning PC at this time. No security software even.
Any further guidance before I get a hammer?

I want to download the ISO apply for the XP SP1 and XP SP2 service pack disks for XP Pro. Just the SERVICE PACKS. I currently have the XP Pro disk.
I are unable to find a url to order the SP disks, nor can I find a hyperlink to download the SP ISO images.
Unfortunately the XP SP3 disk will not have the file asms the XP Pro installation is seeking.
When I click within the Order CD links for SP1 or SP2 it will require me on the SP3 order pages.
I am installing XP Pro with an Intel i5 system.
The XP SP3 help pages point out that either SP1a or SP2 must be installed first.

Hi PA Bear, Many appreciate your your many answers. I looked over every link and find out that you state that the XP SP2 ISO is not available.
I can't get XP to fit at all so downloading will never be of any value at this point from the install. This is the reason why I need the XP SP2 disc or ISO file.
I cannot find any connection to order the XP SP2 disc.
Unfortunately XP SP3 disk doesn't have all in the XP SP2 info. And hence XP SP2 is needed before the XP SP3 service pack might be installed. And the XP SP3 disc doesn't have the asms file required to put in XP.
Once the XP install sees the asms file will not be available, it aborts the download in the event you do not supply a CD achievable file onto it.

XP 32 bit isn't installed yet because it is prompting to locate file asms within the XP SP1 disk. I cannot run files while there is no OS yet. This is the reason why I need the XP SP1, XP SP1a, or XP SP2 service pack disks. Not sure why MS does a minimum of provide the XP SP2 ISO file?

I estimate that I cannot execute regedit mid-way thru the XP installation because there isn't an OS yet.
In the meantime I have disabled everything inside BIOS it not needed and also have deleted the partition and began a different installation of Windows XP, unfortunately I still find the prompt chose the asms file around the XP SP1 disk.

The XP install prompts for that asms file w/39 minutes left in cellular phone while installing devices that produces me feel that there is usually a h/w conflict with XP. Not sure if XP Pro w/no SPs supported SATA 2? But I can format the SATA 2 HD during set up . with no issues. XP Pro w/no SPs does support my old HP IDE CDROM so I dont think that would be the issue. I did in addition try disabling the IDE support within the BIOS only to see what the results are and I still obtain the prompt to get the asms file.
Can I expand the XP in to a folder W/O actually inatallation? This way I might be capable of get the files that I need by copying them from the working PC to your CD.

Thanks, but that particular hasnt worked personally. Its basically a stub, because the full download as I realize it is about 134MB, while this is all about 2MB.
