I am installing Windows XP Pro using a virtual machine Virtual Box. The install went fine, and networking seems to be fine can look at internet through IE. However, I am unable to setup Windows XP SP1a.
I downloaded the SP1a express installer, which is often a small couple MB installer that downloads the remainder content during installation. However, when I run the installer, I get server didn't respond errors.
Does anyone recognize an official destination to get the offline network installation version of SP1 or SP1a? I cant often find it within the MS website anywhere, everything I find points towards the express installer.
From what I can buy, Windows XP Service Pack 1 didn't have an offline install version.
However, SP2 includes all updates released before, so SP1 is not needed. It should be enough to put in SP2, accompanied by SP3. This doesnt include updates after SP3, though, so make sure you visit Windows Update.
Correction furnished by iOSXPC: Service Pack 1a does have the official 125 MB offline installation.

Praseetha, I am most grateful on your help. You initially asked two questions. First, when did this problem start? The answer: last week. Second, were any changes designed to computer previous to issue? The answer: I did must have a Windows overlay done as a result of problems that were occurring. Everything works well now aside from this MS Shadow Copy Provider matter.
I followed the 2 main steps you recommended. For step one, when controling another MS professional, I had already installed Framework 1.1. Service Pack 1. In fact, earlier, I did these:

I was thinking there may be a way a small group who could update Ryans update pack slowly and gradually in their time, rather than Ryan alone anf the husband can have time for it to do other activities IRL.
I for just one dont wanna spend right through the day hunting for new hotfix releases I only do GDR in mine usually only Windows Update listed updates, and Microsoft does silently update older hotfixes that hotfixes which has a higher KB doesnt necessarily support the latest build.

There was no integration problem with the 2 packs, you can buy ricks xp to mce updatepack just look under os transformation packs.
It generally seems to work ok in vmware workstation but pops up with error once booted coming from a clean install in the disk I created earlier.

I needs to have done this inside the first place, I integrated SP3 updatepack by userhidden, wmp11 addon by yumeyao and IE8 addon by onepiece by having ryanvm integrator 1.6 final, formatted my drive and yes it installed perfectly, no issues in any respect.

thanks for updating the rest based on ryans., I believe a good Idea could possibly be in having a number of people for modding an updatepack keeping it updated, exactly the same way few of us diddo for keeping the integrator alive updated whenever someone has time.
testing wont be a challenge there are always a couple of users hanging about not from the same time -when ever some one is back and ready for just a new integration, and it fell can possibly rely about this help the whole point, anyways.

If there is a constant run an application which utilizes this version of msxml, then youll never need it. But if you run a credit application that needs it, never be surprised if it app fills up.

If you don't ever run an application using this version of msxml, then youll never need it. But if you run a credit application that needs it, never be surprised if app fills up.

Ive been using Ryans Updatepack since. Im having problem when installing Serif FontManager version 2 or 3. it shows one message that ought to restart. in final summary is Onepiece.
