Yes XP will not be perfect but hardly slow compared for the bloated and rushed VISTA. If you perform clean install with XP and also your computer is slow its your hardware or maybe you have the wrong drivers installed. This isn't XPs fault.
The second step is to buy a whole new computer with 7. You can get a different one to get a couple hundred and in case you need a great computer for tech you'll be able to build your own to get a few hundred too. Im sure you will find techs in your area that can help you. Either way the rule of thumb is XP for old computers, and 7 for brand spanking new ones. And should you absolutely cant stand XP i really enjoy seeing then change to linux. Its free and far more secure.

Because XP can not be installed over some higher window like 8 and 8.1 Last time I tried it, it reached same point then when it aimed to show set of drives it set it up error. Because the current window was 8.1 and I was trying to setup XP. So XP didn t detect window 8/8.one out of C and threw error.

However, as I stated during my original entry, I had to re-image my older DELL PC while using licensed copy of XP Pro that included the PC and must upgrade to SP3 eventually. The XP Pro SP1a download within Microsoft keeps failing from server at 1106a.
I have tried numerous times to carry out the download using the aforementioned link, but am not able to download XP Pro SP1a as a consequence of Microsoft server failures using the hyperlink above.

Anyway, if your download begins, seems like to work fine. After my system does the backup just before the upgrade, I experience a pop-up window state Downloading files and patches. This may be the download that fails. After about 30 secs, I get yourself a msg stating The server would not respond. It says to retry the download a few times of course, if unsuccessful, go for the XP Service Pack internet site and select Problems Downloading the Service Pack. I havent located with this web site any other instructions for tips on how to download without requiring an online connection during mobile phone.
The PC which I am seeking to rebuild the application environment merely has Windows XP Pro, driver updates, DVD and CD burning software installed and which is it. It is just not a functioning PC as of this time. No security software even.
Any further guidance before I get one of these hammer?
