Yes XP just isn't perfect but hardly slow when compared to the bloated and rushed VISTA. If you execute a clean install with XP along with your computer continues to be slow its your hardware otherwise you have the wrong drivers installed. This just isn't XPs fault.

Sorry, just saw your reply. Your sarcasm is noted. When I wrote the review, I was frustrated that I couldnt just download Media Center alone. I was also aggravated while MS excluding XP support looking at the products to the sole function of pushing individuals to the new OS. However, its unimportant. This review was almost couple of years ago, and the ones should definitely be looking for something more important by now, even when its not Windows. Windows 7 is wonderful, but people should select Ubuntu if your upgrade is cost-prohibitive; desktop Linux has come a long ways, plus the upgrades have the freedom.
Also, I know it seems silly to anticipate that links to XP Media Center Edition point out XP Media Center Edition and not something else entirely. Maybe its CNETs problem, plus they just need to pack up this faulty download listing.
