Hello, just needed to add that I installed MagicDisk on my small Windows Vista Ultimate x64 flawlessly. You only need to press install anyway in the install prompt since the driver is unsigned. But both these provide simply a way to get into the files on the ISO image, not only a way of executing software as if this came on the CD or DVD. I can confirm how the Microsoft freeware utility to mount ISO images /kb/916902 does indeed use Vista Business SP1.
Virtual CloneDrive worked beautiful on Vista Home Basic for me personally. Installed in the matter of minutes. Mounted my installation disk no probs, and enabled me to put in all my disk images from my external hard disk in seconds!

Does this work together with SecureROM? I use a few games that contain SecureROM in it curse you EA for getting out BioWare! and I ve heard some pretty bad reasons for SecureROM and ISO mounters. I cant hold back until they know that it s rubbish and find a fresh DRM:P

Joe Currently, the SPTD driver is not suitable for Windows 7, hence DT won't work on W7.
As for anybody else who says that other products work yes, they are doing, and I am currently using VCD but they also don t possess the emulation for instance SecureROM so I can make ISOs of y games and play them without having to have a stupid crack or no CDDVD fix with the game.
I have dual 500 GB 32MB Cache HDs and in addition they are infinitely well, nearly faster compared to a DVD drive, and DT allows me to try out games like Mass Effect, GTR Evolution, and The Witcher Enhanced edition without having to work with anything else. VCD and many types of these other products simply don t support that form of emulation.
Finally, the DT free version does come bundled with questionable software but that is certainly easily disabled from installing.

So, I just opened the iso files using another computer that s networked to this place, and remained silent. Then, looking over the comments here, I decided to use MagicISO. Wow. What a cool program. It installed without having problem, and I ve opened and accessed an ISO file as being a disk drive. I ll try something more complicated later, but I won t post again unless I run into problems.

Vista 32 here, i could Virtual clone, i used daemon and another too but i receive the same problem. The drive gets created though the Virtual clone graphic is not about the drive letter. And with these programs same task. When i mount my iso it really opens up files and wont execute a true mount

My Laptop is triple Boot seperate primary partitions. Running Xp Pro SP3 32 Bit Retail, Vista Ultimate SP2 32 Bit Retail Vista Ultimate SP2 64 Bit Retail.
Was running Win 7 RC Build 7100 within the Ultimate 64 Bit slot but dumped it personal gripes Classic style menus Win 3.11 Control Panel with miniature or microscopic icons etc.
Alcohol 120 runs fine on all.

Daemon Tools runs fine on all. I dumped it for reasons of private dislike nevertheless it ran OK.
Vista 64 Bit Rocks. Just about everything runs about it 32 Bit or 64 Bit software. Man I been wracking my brain attempting to figure out which one these works and reading forums blah blah. I have windows 7 x64 home premium. Installed the win 7 version of magicdisc and yes it installed ok as you would think then I could understand the virtual cd drive when I clicked the shortcut to get into the app and mount it i kept obtaining the file path not accessible need admin privilages bs. Of course thats bs becuase I did have rights. Anyways loaded /download/pismotech audit and it is a LIGHT app and small install. No resources burned up no frills. but great for iso s CONFIRMED it truly does work on win 7 64 HP version
Nobody mentioned this, below to offer another alternative. I came across the next tool and are actually using it since that time for disk mounting. Should develop Vista and above as well as on 64-bit too plus it s also FREE w/o spyware, and open source. I ve installed it in my Vista PC don t recall if I ve used it I don t work achievable PC often.
