I strongly suggest using a newer version which has a longer support lifetime. Naveed it sounds that you installed the bottom version of SQL Express, which doesnt include Management Studio. And why are you installing 2008 today anyway and why the x86 version? I strongly suggest using a more sophisticated version using a longer support lifetime.
