Personally, I would install SQL Server and Visual Studio. When installing Visual Studio, make sure you not install the Express Edition of SQL Server that is certainly part on the install. Naveed it sounds as if you installed the camp version of SQL Express, which doesnt include Management Studio. And why are you installing 2008 today anyway and why the x86 version? I suggest using a modern-day version which has a longer support lifetime. At the very least, even if you will need to work with a 2008 engine for whatever reason, you need to be using Management Studio 2012 SP1, which cost nothing and fully functional without any with the limitations that existed in the past versions of SSMS Express.
