The installing of this driver fails with errors. For some strange reason, although NUMEROUS others posted this same conclusion, I charged ahead with installation. And, do you know what, it doesnt work.
The Creative website has NEWER and somewhat FIXED drivers. Dont take advantage of this. Shame on CNET for not removing this post/download LONG AGO. Why is this still here? It doesnt work, its out-dated, and it is a pain. Go to Creative, BUT be warned: installing the drivers there isnt exactly problem-free either. Creative cant manage to get a simple driver update program right. Very disappointing, for a corporation that has had? this type of great reputation. During install, it locks up the body after the mandatory reboot. I did the CTL-ALT-DEL combo, along with the task manager, found 6 programs running. I randomly chose and stopped one, understanding that got me to my desktop. Still don't realize if my drivers were updated properly. I have a very horrible feeling I need to execute a complete wipe and reinstall of my OS and software, in order to fix whatever just happened to my system. Sloppy, very sloppy, Creative. Wish that you were the company you once was.

Cons: Windows will detect the Audigy sound card, but Creative Labs own driver-install is not going to; after multiple tries in several forms is actually different versions on the driver-install, I finally gave I wouldnt bother.

As of 24 Jan 06 Creative released a person that DOES work, nevertheless it does not feature any on the creative software that truly makes the sound card worth having. You get drivers, and many thinned down version from the creative audio console, but little else. Ive tried every driver they have got released, including the driving force disk that included the card. Almost always receive an error after extraction saying setup can't find any sound blaster audigy
