This was advertised like a Microsoft OEM disc however, if opened turned out being a Dell reinstallation disc for just a PC that already has windows 7 into it. I belive some other clients have had precisely the same problem. This was purchased coming from a German supplier and forfilled by amazon. Amazon need to become more careful with what they ship on behalf their a contented returned as it has not been fit for purpose. Awaiting refund.

Yeah i've just discovered this just isn't as advertised, yes would be a german supplier and does turn out to get a Dell reinstallation disc, hell easily knew might everyone else will not have purchased, used to wonder why automatic activation wouldn't work so tried manual activation and thats as i discovered the main issue same with COUTERFEIT but not impressed, did previously obtain a 32 bit version and that's through amazon but was english and was very successful, hearing the text from DELL say it's activated already on another computer abroad was so depressing, i stated Amazon plus they literally laughed, seems this isn't a first then, amazed and bemused is definitely an understatement. As this was ages ago while I had been getting the pieces together with the build it has gone with the return by date, I received a dell reinstallation disc from your German supplier, fulfilled by amazon, this purchase was obviously a joke.

The software installed without having problem and updated itself automatically. When it prompted for that activation key the supplied product key has not been accepted. The Microsoft activation software reported the product key didnt match this product. In my experience, OEM software generally has OEM inside the product key. This key would not have that. The only option available ended up being purchase a replacement license. The cost of these would are actually the same as the main purchase price with the product.
Because in the failed activation as well as the cost of obtaining a replacement licence I am returning the item and removing it from my PC.
Out appealing I downloaded and ran the Microsoft product verification tool. It reported that some components on the activation software was tampered with or were corrupt. Again the only option given would have been to purchase a replacement licence.

Arrived quickly and installed the 64-bit version without the problems what-so-ever. Previously downloaded 64 bit Vista drivers from your Dell website using the initial driver codes to look for the correct drivers along with the recommended sequence. Once set-up, connected on the inet and registration was quickly achieved. Although this disk includes SP1, then come prolonged download sessions as you'll find hundreds more which dont always install and, MS within their wisdom, will apparently 't be producing a SP2.

Very thrilled with Windows 7. Had to buy because laptop bought with Windows 7 crashed coupled with to reformat drive. Shold have provided Windows7 disk using the laptop:-
