The angels announce that this style of peace is here to us at Christmas. Its a peace with God, which can be our most fundamental need. Therefore, since we've been justified by faith, we have now peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ Romans 5:1. Through Jesus Christ, our sins are already forgiven. He comes to earth on bearing our sins as well as save us. Through Jesus Christ, we can easily have peace with God. God adopts us into us. He is for people. We never should wonder about where we stand with God anymore. This will be the foundation with the peace how the angels speak about.
But its more than this. It begins to flood how we live with peace, a peace which is independent of circumstances. Its what Paul discusses in Philippians: And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts as well as your minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Its the peace that Jesus promised: Peace I leave along with you; my peace I have for you. Not as the globe gives do I have for you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither permit them to be afraid John 14:27.
Its a peace this seeps into our relationship with other sites. If possible, so far mainly because it depends you, live peaceably operating Romans 12:18.
But whats important here is the fact this peace is not for all. It sounds shocking to mention this, however it is true. The angels say, peace to individuals on whom he's pleased! Gods peace is available to the people hes chosen. Gods peace emerged to all, but a fact is required.
On whom his favor rests. I like that. It takes pressure to succeed off us. A Savior comes, and hes taken the initiative in pursuing us. One from the hardest things within the world is wanting to earn someone elses approval. Its exhausting. Youre wanting to impress other people. Youre never certain of their response. You feel as you have to help keep your guard up, you cant sometimes be yourself. Youve experienced that inside a job interview or even a first date, or when finding a partner you really desire to impress. Youre on edge because youre looking to earn their favor.
This passage frees us from that if it comes to God. If you're here today, should you are sensing that God is drawing someone to himself, when you are sensing the good thing about Jesus, then this good news is the fact that God are at work. You dont must impress him. Its evidence that his favor rests upon you. Youre being called to react, to take delivery of with empty hands what Christ is doing for you. Do that today. Receive it. Youll never be exactly the same.
Heres what this passage lets us know: Christmas brings Gods glory towards the weak and small, and offers us both things we require most: praise and peace.
There is hardly an even better way to sum up what God concerned when he created the entire world, or when he stumbled on reclaim the globe in Jesus Christ his glory, our peace. His greatness, our joy. His beauty, our pleasure. The point of creation and redemption is God is glorious and means being known and praised for his glory by the peace-filled new humanity.
I began today by asking you should you ever feel smaller than average weak. If you do, nice thing about it! That means you grasp reality, because thats exactly everything you are. But heres the nice thing about it that the angels announce: God originates to people who will be weak and small the same as us, and calls us to find out his greatness, and offers to fill us regarding his peace.
Respond and believe. Respond to what Jesus did by sending his Son. If you sense him drawing yourself to him, dont resist anymore. Bow your knee, and join the angels in worship so that you are able to receive that peace.
Worship him. You cant check out what Jesus has been doing without bowing down in worship for the one who has been doing so much. As we respond within a few minutes, realize that you're joining angels who cant overcome what God has been doing. Enter into that worship today. Reorient yourself around his glory.
Receive his peace. No matter what is going on as part of your life, know today that they are for you. Bring yourself before him. Hand your anxieties to the site him, and understand that he will supply you with his peace even within the hardest circumstances of your respective life.
