Although we could use Bitmap for many materials on the objects, some textures like wall surfaces, tile, wood, oil painting, leather and water, which all come with an uneven surface, must use Bump map in order to build them.
1. Click within the brick cube and open the Material Editor to edit the Bump map towards the brick material. Under the Maps on the right side from the Material Editor, look into the Bump and click for the m to look at the Texture Editor.
2. Same as before, select Bitmap beneath the Type pull down menu.
3. Click around the m on the right of Bitmap, choose the appropriate grey-scale bump map texture for that brick.
4. After importing the map, should the Bump map is equivalent to the Diffuse map, be sure the U, V Repeat under UVW Transform have similar value. For example, if Bump map is employing U: 2 and V: 2, the Diffuse map needs to be the same. Otherwise, the two of these maps will never align correctly. Also, start the Multiplier around the left side with value like 1 and increase as necessary.
Image around the left is response to using only brick Bitmap. The surface with the block looks very smooth. Image about the right is rendered with Bump map added to your entire block. Obviously you can start to see the Bump texture inside brick surface.
