Thanks with the download links. Also being an FYI, I have the IBM 5.5u1 customized version of ESXi. Even after updating with Update Manager to five.5u2, they still report as IBM 5.5u1 customized along with the link to download Vsphere still points to your 5.5u1 version of Vsphere.
This is this sort of service I spent too much time in search of the download link with the client, not to become found why doesn t VMware do a similar thing??
looking to save time getting sw just before building the therapy lamp almost lost the fight, figuring I would get the consumer by logging into your host, but now you've saved time, and I could have everything I need for any hopefully successful build which has a 60 day life, I understand.
I know there can be an internal push at VMware to obtain this more accessible, but you will never know. Until then, I ll keep doing what I m doing to choose this accessible. Glad to own helped you within your day!

Has anyone considered the reality that VMware revenue from services is climbing and revenue from revenue is falling? At least like a percentage of total revenue. Google to the quarterly VMware reports to start to see the trend.
I wonder should the services side of VMware has become the focus on the company. They seem to become handing Microsoft the hypervisor market with a platter. I ve not seen the likes of computer before. When Hyper-V was released I tried it, rolled my eyes in disbelief it turned out so bad, and managed to move on quite happy with VMware. Seems that s changed.
I definitely notice that not only VMvware, but most companies are working on services and recurring revenue. I believe until this trend as well because the trend toward cloud computing could eventually hit a shift much like those described in Clayton Christensen s book, The Innovator s Solution: Creating and Sustaining Successful Growth. In the book, he highlights the recurring shifts from centralization to decentralization and returning. At some point, these lenders will recognize that their products need work, and customers will once again need to bring things in-house for performance and price saving reasons. VMware probably believes that they can be so far ahead in the curve they will sacrifice a few of that lead to seize services revenues for your short to mid term. It s certainly an appealing game and I m interested to find out how it plays out.
I m really cozying up towards the free Windows Server Core Hyper-V as hard as it truly is to admit it. At least for Windows VMs it s easier to handle. And there s NO difficulty having the management client!
But for single hosts or non-AD environments yes, I said non-AD that need running a few Windows VMs particularly on older hardware you have the idea.

Unfortunately from what I ve heard, the online world interface will be here to stay along with the Windows client will not be. Kind of a shame coming from a performance standpoint since that web interface just isn t nearly as responsive.

It is backward compatible within a way. If you install that one and try to regulate an older version, it is going to download and install the compatibility portions to allow you to regulate any of them. That s what I do.

i am going to deploy windows 2012, and rehearse esxi free version since the hypervisor.
i cant makeup my mind whether i would go for esxi 5.5-6.0.
also, is vsphere client 5.5 works with esxi 6.0?
I would go ahead and make use of ESXi 6 personally. I just upgraded my environment to ESXi 6 yesterday. Once you utilize the 5.5 client using a 6.0 environment, it is going to upgrade the customer for you therefore you should be fine. Enjoy!

You re quite welcome! Without emulating, I don t believe there is usually a way make use of that C client on Ubuntu. I believe s why they went with a web based vCenter server.

On the opposite hand I have to say I am happy that I am not man or woman having trouble locating the download link! At some point I started to believe that I cannot browse a site as people do!
