Windows XP mode is merely licensed to people versions of 7, it just isn't avaiable for Home Premium, licensing hasnt changed.
You are able to use Windows VPC, and not XP Mode. If you need XPMode, install your copy or upgrade to Windows 7 Pro.
Actually the first VHD file is designed for some reason set you just read only by Microsoft plus the permissions denied and ownership to System. So before I merged the VHD to make a dynamically expanding one, I had to consider ownership, give admin permissions and then take off the read only attribute. The merge completed successfully. Now the mistake message when I start XP is One or maybe more required files can be missing or otherwise not valid. Do you would like to create a new Windows XP environment? It is usually a shame that people who own Home 64-bit Windows 7 do not possess XP Mode built-in.
Im mainly a Mac OS X user, so sadly forget about VPC about this platform it turned out PPC
But VMware Fusion is really a very good contemporary Intel Mac program, and after this I successfully installed XP Mode in a Windows 7 Professional x64 Fusion VM something wasnt possible before this latest update from Microsoft.
So, now it's possible running XP Mode also in the virtualized Win7 environment, with virtually no additional software: well, it is needless to say a little slower than using a natively booted machine, but :-
