This powerful utility provides almost anything you should turn real CDs and DVDs into virtual ones. The virtual discs reside on your own hard drive, thereby accelerating disk access and permitting you to put the real disc away. The program blends with ISO images along with ones created in Nero, CloneCD, along with other popular utilities. Creating a virtual disc took about 5 minutes. Virtual CD offers several features similar apps don t. For example, you'll be able to burn your virtual discs on the DVD to operate on any PC. Automation tools permit you to install this course on several computers or insert multiple virtual CDs having a click. The main interface is a little complicated, but an expedient toolbar provides entry to essential functions. Even with 20 virtual CD-ROMs plugged in, this software consumed moderate resources. Altogether, Virtual CD produces a superb selection for those who have to work with virtual discs.
From HH Software: Virtual CD creates images within your optical media CD, DVD, HD-DVD, Blu Ray, so it is possible to use them whenever you want without having the physical medium accessible. Your data is obtainable exactly as when the medium was at the drive, without worrying about disadvantages attendant, by way of example, on network shares. The images created might be stored with a server allow simultaneous access by multiple users. When creating a perception, there is an option of picking out the level of compression and, if desired, even encryption. You get maximum availability of one's data, while lost, damaged and stolen media turn into thing with the past. Virtual CD 10 goes past the classic CD and DVD formats and allows virtualization and virtual burning of Blu-ray and HD DVD media at the same time. With the new data safe mode, encrypted drives may be created automatically. This makes it an easy task to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. Encrypted drives usually do not differ from ordinary drives operational or handling.
Version 10.6.0 improves Windows 8 compatibility.
Demo Version Came Already expired along with Virus!
downloaded Demo Version, once program installed, explained the demo had already expired and I had to purchase or uninstall.
Couldnt locate fairly easily option burning to virtual CD.
Very Disappointed with CNET download site, program downloaded as a possible already expired Demo version, and installed software I didnt tell it to.
Good Program, Bad CNET! Nod32 Detected a TROJAN.
The Trojan has not been loaded through the file but from the download link listed by cnet. the Trojan transferred from CNET BEFORE this program began to download.
Wouldnt touch it again, might contain viruses!!
Was GREAT. Warns about updates, but they can t discover them
only allows purchase. I have version 10.0. 10.1 is accessible. Clicking the hyperlink in this program only visits purchase or trial version area, Why allow it to become imppossible to discover the minor version upgrades? I think the condition in part is to use language difficulties with the authors.
Ridiculously expensive and it is a freedownload NOT free.
I use CD one times. this will likely save computer extended life.
Well, I only tested and make use of the virtual disc mounting, the cd-r to shed virtual discs from itunes, and delay pills work as expected, and also easily.
I use this to lose a cd from itunes so I might re-rip the songs ion an mp3 format.
thing that can the longest is selecting the songs. If only I could just burn MY music that I uploaded with my OWN CDS onto an mp3 grrrr
nothing wrong with virtual cd though!!!
Itunes sucks. This 's what I needed.
Hmm, now wondering whether it will mount on win7 superior to
will make edit as appropriate, but too put together since this product seems, Im more likely to buy it.
The entire process took about 2 minutes, to shed a playlist, and re-rip to mp3.
Also, Ill be aware that it looks to become very nice for splitting and even encrypting, I didnt look that far with it and password protecting files that you may ought to write to your virtual disc that might be later mounted, while leaving no physical copy from the information.
version 9 did wonders, believed version 10 could be better. All it can is offer Blue-Ray support and Windows 7, makes you upgrade. I taken care of a 5 license version but surely could only install in my netbook with Windows 7 starter.
It will never install on Windows 7 Home Premium, by incorporating kind of SCSI driver error. The support site was too complicated. Reinstalled 3 to the site Daemon tools Lite that has been free.
I usually mount a couple of discs only. So if I had known sooner I would purchased Daemon Tools Lite. Virtual CD version 10 interface was too complicated and just did not install on Windows 7 Home Premium, weird.

Too bad your laptop probably do not have scsi support, have you happen to even check to convert it on from the bios? Its unlikely, even so the laptop probably have scsi support. It most probably only uses sata connections, so naturally youll have trouble mounting a virtual SCSI drive into a computer that cant support it.
Irritating when dummies write bad reviews.
Installed and works great on my own Win7 x64, and Vista 32
Finally I don't possess to re-rip my 400 cds to get rid on the huge file size and DRM I foolishly let itunes rip from my discs!
Have many sodts for every individual!
I such as the product greatly!
Didn t consume resources, did what it was required to do.
It simulated a CD well, and didnt hog system resources.
Not very simple to use, however the toolbar provides basic needs.

User-friendly and powerful application that can help you mount and unmount images and support for many formats for the market, including ISO, BIN, IMG, UDF, DVD and CCD
Virtual CloneDrive doesn t enable you to create CD or DVD copies, instead they have the ability to develop a virtual drive, so that you'll be able to easily mount images and look at the files found in such images without an excessive amount effort.
The program acts the same as any other physical DVD drive, however the main difference is that you may easily insert a disc by double simply clicking on the image file stored on the computer. This is possible if you opt to associate Virtual CloneDrive while using supported format files.
There are only a number of options to configure, which emphasizes the belief that the whole application utilizes simplicity. With this tool you ll manage to create approximately 15 virtual drives on your own computer. It takes a little while until each of them is set up, yet still, it is quite a feature if you work together with virtual disc images constantly.
Virtual CloneDrive supports most formats for the market, including ISO, BIN, IMG, UDF, DVD and CCD. On top of that, it provides each user the opportunity to unmount a picture using only a single right click. To further ease the operation, all drives put together by Virtual CloneDrive bear the approval icon on an easier identification.
As we found during our tests, Virtual CloneDrive works a goody and handles the pictures cleanly. The emulation of numerous drives is conducted quickly enough plus the simplicity and also the ease of use allow it to become a great addition to anyone s tool belt.

Create Virtual Drives from long paths, it's very easy! Type the complete path or maybe easier browse towards the path through Drive and Folder Lists. Turn long paths into letters with Virtual Drive Creator!
Choose a drive letter on the Available Virtual Drive Letters list and Click Add Virtual Drive to produce the Virtual Drive, or Double Click the letter to generate the Virtual Drive.
Its just as an easy task to remove a Virtual Drive, Double Click the letter you need removed to be a Virtual Drive or Click the letter then Click Remove Virtual Drive.
Make CD-ROMs obsolete: Copy the belongings in a CD-ROM to your folder, not the foundation directory, on the Hard Drive. Make that folder a Virtual Drive see paragraph above, then install the Virtual CD on the Virtual Drive letter.
Click Start, Run and inside the space provided type L:setup or L:install substitute your Virtual Drive letter for L and find out the documentation that came using your CD-ROM for that proper installation command.

Other Thoughts: Even before I found do the functional part I ran into two bugs. First, I could only make a virtual drive using Driveletters that have been already occupied. Second, when I tried to opt for a Path, that looked like there was hidden or was zipped, the approval came in a deadlock situation - I just wished to abort the action, but I were forced to select an existing/recognisable path inside currently selected folder. There wasnt any so I aborted the full application en uninstalled immediatly.

The latest version is 2.1.2008.206
Replaced zlib version from 1.2.2 one.2.3. Thanks to Stefan Kanthak for indicating the security vulnerability in the previous version. Sorry I didnt respond soon, Stefan.
Since a number of people seemed to have trouble finding out how to build a new image with VfdWin, I decided to improve the text on Open button to Open/Create. I hope it will help.
Added platform checking to ensure VFD isn't going to start on 64 bit OS.
Version display now shows build number build date, in VFDs case because I decided to depart the major and minor versions unchanged.
No change at all to your device driver.
Changed the name to Virtual Floppy Drive from Virtual Floppy Driver.
Well, this might seem trivial to your account, but it really seems right to me:- because as the driver continues to be core in this project, the interface programs have become to take increasingly more significant roles from the whole picture.
Save virtual floppy image into files.
You can conserve modified RAM disk image into files or save mounted file image into different files.
Now it is possible to specify either 3.5 or 5.25 for 640KB, 720KB and 1.2MB media.
Now it is possible to specify media size different in the actual file size.
For example, you are able to mount single.44MB image being a 1.2MB media, or you may use image files with surplus data by the end which some floppy backup programs create.
Now you'll be able to change the motorist start method without reinstalling the motive force.
command line options to suppress prompting.
Now you are able to run your batch file the whole time.
Removed the Mount Manager support on Windows 2000 and then.
It was causing a difficulty that once the driving force is stopped it can't restart till the system is rebooted.
I may restore the feature when the motorist becomes fully Plug Play compatible.
In FILE mode, image files are mounted directly.
Changes produced in virtual media are written to your file immediately.
In RAM mode, on memory copy of image files are mounted.
Enables to start read-only files as writable media.
Changes are certainly not written back in the image file discarded on image close.
WinImage compressed image support.
RAM mode open only, and can't save into an IMZ file.
New images manufactured with VFD are pre-formatted with FAT12.
Enables to format media which Windows format cannot handle.
Switching write-protection of virtual media about the fly.

Drive letters are preserved until explicitly removed.
The same drive letter is assigned the next time the trucker starts.
On Windows 2000 SP2 and then, drive letters usually are not deleted if the user logged off.
On Windows XP and Terminal Servers drive letters are globally visible.
You can select between the old ephemeral drive letters.

Super FAQ : NTFS compressed/encrypted files are not mounted directly. It is intentional to stop the Windows cache manager dead lock.
Super FAQ : Current VFD are unable to create image from or save to actual floppy disk. Use programs like WinImage or RawWriteWin for your purpose.
Windows XP Explorer shows virtual drives as removable drives, quite a bit less floppy drives. Also it shows a 5.25 floppy icon if your virtual drive is A: or B:, plus a removable drive icon otherwise. Id say its a bug in the Explorer. Other properly designed programs wont have got such problem.
Windows XP Explorer sometimes doesnt respond properly after you addchange drive letters of virtual drives. I think it is an Explorer bug, since the same thing occurs I change drive letters of a hard disk drive, a CD drive, etc. Restart the Explorer or, in the event that fails, log off and go online again plus the the virtual drives are going to be recognized correctly.
Windows XP and Explorer can format 1.44M media only.
Use or format media with size unpublished above.
Windows 2000/XP Explorers check disk does not help VFD drives.
Use command line instead.
Changing a virtual media between 3.5 and 5.25 isn't going to update the drive type display from the Explorer. Its just cosmetic. Any programs who have to distinguish them should recognize the drive type correctly.
Some programs especially genuine ones assume floppy drives to get either A: or B:. If certain programs dont recognize a VFD drive, try changing the drive letter to A: or B:.
Windows 2000/XP sometimes assign conflicting drive letters, especially with removable devices like USB drives and network drives. If a VFD drive suddenly becomes unaccessible, try changing the drive letter.
Conflict with swapfs /bosse/is reported by Suzu. unconfirmed
Some users have reported gradual system reduce and eventual secure while copying a large level of data to/from virtual drives. unconfirmed

Recently 2 people have independently provided me with some information about compiling and running VFD driver using a 64 bit system, and I decided these are worth sharing here here. Please remember that I cannot answer any question around the matter as I myself haven't ever used a 64 bit system.
A person that has a handle name critical0 provided me the info and also a driver binary compiled for AMD64. Here is definitely an extract from a message he sent in my opinion:
On Sat, 21 Oct 2006 critical0 wrote:
Third, x64 support is lacking, yet not that hard to implement. the motive force builds well for AMD64 im using winddk 3790.1830 for win 2003 server x64. On Wed, 22 Nov 2006 Igor Levicki wrote:
This is what you've to alteration of driver code to allow compilation for 64-bit platform: vfdimg.c: 466: OUT PULONG ReturnLength OUT ULONGPTR ReturnLength vfddrv.h OUT PULONG ReturnLength; OUT ULONGPTR ReturnLength; Rationale behind this modification is that in ntddk.h field is understood to be ULONGPTR, but not ULONG. In case you are unsure the difference, ULONGPTR is described as unsigned int3264 while ULONG is simply unsigned long. So, ULONGPTR should be utilized for portability reasons.
NOTE: Both critical0s and Igors suggestions take different approaches for the same problem. Igor has remarked that type casting from ULONGPTR to PULONG, which appears in critical0s fix, is unsafe and I agree that type casting in general may be dangerous.
However, through this case, I assume that critical0s fix in all fairness safe. Because the address referred to through the pointer involved is first initialized properly with 0 and also a value being stored in that address never gets to become negative or exceeds 300 or possibly even longer, which is just not even close towards the 32 bit limitation.
NOTE2: According to Igor, type casting method has another drawback with regards to processor and memory bus cycles. So it is best to take Igors suggestion whenever you build a 64-bit binary yourself. However if you can not build it yourself, I still assume that critical0s binary is not planning to crash or anything. Sorry for inconvenience but Im not planning to build and distribute a 64-bit binary myself for that time being, largely because I cannot even state that my build works with a 64-bit system. At least critical0s binary works for him.
Binary: 78, 508 bytes Apr. 27, 2003 Version 2.0 Release Candidate
1.01 - - Fixed some bugs in gui.
Reported to be effective also on 2003 Server and Vista.
Note!!! This version works only on 32 bit systems!!!
You can mount a floppy image file as being a virtual floppy drive and directly access the contents - - view, edit, rename, delete or create files over a virtual floppy, format a virtual floppy, launch a program with a virtual almost anything you are able to do which has a real floppy.
The latest version is 2.1.2008.206
Replaced zlib version from 1.2.2 to just one.2.3. Thanks to Stefan Kanthak for indicating the security vulnerability from the previous version. Sorry I didnt respond soon, Stefan.
Since some individuals seemed to have trouble finding out how to make a new image with VfdWin, I decided to vary the text on Open button to Open/Create. I hope it will help.
Added platform checking to ensure that VFD will not start on 64 bit OS.
Version display now shows build number build date, in VFDs case because I decided to go out of the major and minor versions unchanged.
No change at all on the device driver.
Well, this will likely seem trivial for you, nonetheless it seems appropriate to me:- because as you move the driver remains to be the core in this project, the interface programs have become to take a growing number of significant roles inside whole picture.
Save virtual floppy image into files.
You will save modified RAM disk image into files or save mounted file image into different files.
Now you are able to specify either 3.5 or 5.25 for 640KB, 720KB and 1.2MB media.
Now you are able to specify media size different through the actual file size.
For example, you are able to mount single.44MB image being a 1.2MB media, or you'll be able to use image files with surplus data right at the end which some floppy backup programs create.
Now you'll be able to change the trucker start method without reinstalling the motorist.
command line options to suppress prompting.
Now it is possible to run your batch file whole time.
Removed the Mount Manager support on Windows 2000 and later on.
It was causing a challenge that once the trucker is stopped it can't restart prior to the system is rebooted.
I may restore the feature when the trucker becomes fully Plug Play compatible.
In FILE mode, image files are mounted directly.
Changes manufactured in virtual media are written to your file immediately.
In RAM mode, on memory copy of image files are mounted.
Enables to open up read-only files as writable media.
Changes aren't written to the image file discarded on image close.
WinImage compressed image support.
RAM mode open only, and should not save into an IMZ file.
New images made up of VFD are pre-formatted with FAT12.
Enables to format media which Windows format cannot handle.
Switching write-protection of virtual media about the fly.
A drive letter is just not removed when a picture is closed.
Drive letters are preserved until explicitly removed.
The same drive letter is assigned the next time the driving force starts.
On Windows 2000 SP2 and then, drive letters will not be deleted once the user logged off.
On Windows XP and Terminal Servers drive letters are globally visible.
You can make between the old ephemeral drive letters.
Open/Close a graphic with the right click menu within the virtual drive icon.
Virtual Floppy Drive property sheet.
Drag-and-drop a photo file together with the right button on the virtual drive icon to look at it Windows 2000 and then.
kernel-mode driver: version 2.1.2005.404
vfd. dll driver control and shell extension library
CAUTION! This version are unable to coexist with previous versions.
Please carefully look at the before using this program.
Please send your comments, even when you dont get any problems. Even just one sentence like Works on Windows SP could well be appreciated.
Super FAQ : NTFS compressed/encrypted files is not mounted directly. It is intentional to stop the Windows cache manager dead lock.
Super FAQ : Current VFD are unable to create image from or save to actual floppy disk. Use programs like WinImage or RawWriteWin for the purpose.
Windows XP Explorer shows virtual drives as removable drives, significantly less floppy drives. Also it shows a 5.25 floppy icon if the virtual drive is A: or B:, and also a removable drive icon otherwise. Id say its a bug from the Explorer. Other properly designed programs wont have such problem.
Windows XP Explorer sometimes doesnt respond properly once you addchange drive letters of virtual drives. I think it is also an Explorer bug, for the reason that same thing occurs when I change drive letters of a hard disk, a CD drive, etc. Restart the Explorer or, if fails, log off and login again along with the the virtual drives is going to be recognized correctly.
Windows XP and Explorer can format 1.44M media only.
Use in order to format media with size unlisted above.
Windows 2000/XP Explorers check disk does not use VFD drives.
Use command line instead.
Changing a virtual media between 3.5 and 5.25 doesn't update the drive type display with the Explorer. Its just cosmetic. Any programs which may have to distinguish them should recognize the drive type correctly.
Some programs especially old nozzles assume floppy drives to get either A: or B:. If certain programs dont recognize a VFD drive, try changing the drive letter to A: or B:.
Windows 2000/XP sometimes assign conflicting drive letters, especially with removable devices for instance USB drives and network drives. If a VFD drive suddenly becomes unaccessible, try changing the drive letter.
Conflict with swapfs /bosse/is reported by Suzu. unconfirmed
Some users have reported gradual system slow and eventual secure while copying a large quantity of data to/from virtual drives. unconfirmed
Creating image at a physical removable/floppy drive.
Writing image to a physical removable/floppy drive.
Support for original image compression, encryption, etc., with plug-ins.
Shell extension improvement.
Task tray application drive indicator, etc.
zipimg file support improvement create, save, password protection, etc.
Helpdocumentation improvement.
Make the amount of virtual drives configurable.
Multi-lingual support with message files.
API with the virtual drive access DLL.
WinImage shareware: a Windows program to generate floppy image files from real floppy disks, extract files from image files, create empty image files, write the whole picture files on blank floppy disks, etc.
RawWriteWin free: a Windows program to build floppy image files from real floppy disks, and the other way round.
Recently 2 different people have independently provided me some information about compiling and running VFD driver using a 64 bit system, and I decided they're worth sharing here on this site. Please realize that I cannot answer any question for the matter as I myself haven't used a 64 bit system.
A person using a handle name critical0 set it up the info and also a driver binary compiled for AMD64. Here is surely an extract from an e-mail he sent in my opinion:

Third, x64 support is lacking, yet not that tricky to implement. the trucker builds well for AMD64 im using winddk 3790.1830 for win 2003 server x64. All I was required to change was vfdioctl.c line 120 became: ; to repair up the warning about incompatible types. I just switched driver towards the one Ive built and delay perfectly.

This is what you've to difference in driver code to allow compilation for 64-bit platform: vfdimg.c: 466: OUT PULONG ReturnLength OUT ULONGPTR ReturnLength vfddrv.h OUT PULONG ReturnLength; OUT ULONGPTR ReturnLength; Rationale behind this transformation is that in ntddk.h field is identified as ULONGPTR, instead of ULONG. In case you do not know the difference, ULONGPTR is described as unsigned int3264 while ULONG is merely unsigned long. So, ULONGPTR should provide for portability reasons.
NOTE: Both critical0s and Igors suggestions take different approaches towards the same problem. Igor has noticed that type casting from ULONGPTR to PULONG, which appears in critical0s fix, is unsafe and I agree that type casting in general could be dangerous.
However, through this case, I think that critical0s fix is fairly safe. Because the address referred to through the pointer involved is first initialized properly with 0 as well as a value for being stored in that address never gets for being negative or exceeds 300 approximately, which isn't even close on the 32 bit limitation.

Virtual Floppy Drive VFD is usually a free floppy drive emulator that is usually run from the portable device. This software enables an individual to mount floppy images as being a virtual floppy drives. The user may then directly access the contents to perform precisely the same tasks they would at a physical floppy drive. Launch a course from the virtual floppy, or view, edit, rename, delete and make files around the virtual floppy. Considering that many computers tend not to ship which has a floppy drive anymore, this is often a great tool to add in your portable collection.
