I received this system May 3rd. I had it in about 5 minutes. It comes with the many necessary wires, that you connect for the vcr rca cable and someone to connect via usb for your computer.
No dependence on a tv inside mix, merely a pc, a vcr along with the device from the middle.

I possess a ton of old VCR tapess built back in to the early 1990s and wish to convert those to digital format for burning to DVD. First coming from all let me say why I gave Honestech VHS to DVD 7.0 Deluxe 5 stars. I obtained version 2.0 back many years ago at Costco also it worked great, but had issues. With a recent upgrade of my XP machine, I had to select. I could pick the latest that might run on Windows 8 or change products.
After reading the numerous reviews here on Amazon on other items which were cheaper, I spent any additional money and chose what I already knew. Coming from 2.0 to 7.0, modifications are huge. I love the interactive menu and being able to alter the aspect ratio. I am going to ought to re-digitalize my movies again while using new larger ratio as videos are priceless.
So it can convert the VHS or some other media types Camcorders, etc. which may have RCA inputs/S-Video in MP4/AVC format realistically work great for iPad, PC, etc., but in terms of digitalizing my old movies MPEG is ok for me. I then use Nero 12 to edit and recode my movies to MP4 format. I have tried some with the other features and love the modern everything. I hope this review helps and couldnt be happy.

I had tried other products which promised much, with excellent reviews, but didnt deliver. So I was a bit bit sceptical when purchasing this device. I need not have access to been it had been easy to download, easy to navigate and produced excellent results on the first time I used it. Finally a program that works with windows 8 and does anything you want it to, BRILLIANT!!!!

Took a few minutes from configuring it out on the box and loading the application to setting up the first video conversion also it was much fun to become seeing our old home videos again. Even dug out our old wedding video to convert which hasnt seen the sunshine of day in donkeys years so that had been a trip down memory lane for people all!
Couldnt are already easier. Installed onto my Windows 8 laptop, no problem by any means and very an easy task to hook up. Ive only ever done it with my VHS tapes as much as Ive got other hardware to capture gameplay from my consoles but I expect this could be a nice, cheaper option to some in the more expensive capture cards in existence at the moment, if thats what youre considering this for.

This worked exactly since it should, plus it worked in my computer with Windows 10 and my laptop with windows 8. I used it with vhs tapes and direct from camera. Very happy.
