As a teen, I spent several hours typing while on an older version of Mavis Beacon, and I have not regretted a purchase I produced in learning to type properly and rapidly. I recently purchased this version of Mavis Beacon that helped me to overcome my weaknesses and take my typing skills to a higher level. It has definitely been everything I expected, and I would probably recommend it to anyone, from beginner to advanced, who would like to improve their typing skills. The program automatically adapts for your needs, and definately will construct a customized program created to make you a good and balanced typist.
Overall, I am thoroughly satisfied with this supplement, and I am glad to view that newer versions have upheld the typical of excellence set forth because of the preceding ones.

I am scripting this review because I was very worried about the negative reviews I had read on this system. But it only agreed to be about 17 and amazon has always solved the problem when I had problems. I just built a fresh computer intel 4770s haswell, 8GB ram, nvidia 670, and ssd, windows 7 a gamers computer. I had used mavis beacon before and liked it. Anyway I downloaded it within 2 minutes also it worked perfectly initially. I am very satisfied.

Ive been using different versions of Mavis Beacon since second grade, and thanks in part to your great instruction and use I received during my early years, I am an excellent typist. However, this type of version had nothing in common together with the older versions I remember and I thought it was incredibly clunky and frustrating to utilize. I was hoping the program would help my 10 and 12-year-old sons to boost their keyboarding skills, but listed here are the problems we ran into:
1. Installation went fine on our older 2007 iMac running Snow Leopard no complaints there.
2. This program is PERSONAL edition, meaning progress for merely one person will likely be saved. So unless you are one person, you may need the family edition.
3. One of my sons hates training videos and choose to learn by doing, but this method requires that you watch every video all the method to the end posture, finger positioning etc before it'll let you proceed to the following part.
4. Even if you watch every one of the videos towards the end, it doesnt apparently ever permit you to progress. My other son watched every video, took the assessment test, and completed all 3 activities to know the home row key, however it would never let him move ahead to next step.
