I was advised by eMail that I should install v.7.
I opened TechTool 6 and checked for updates and also got. v7 available as upgrade. I accepted and yes it downloaded something most likely the dmg and started not hard to install then asserted it would close and replace the v.6. It opened my System Preferences TechTool Pro where I changed one item and closed this. There was no TechTool application open around the desktop so I went searching for it in the Applications folder but may only find TechTool 6 which tells me it is just not compatible with Mavericks.
If I look for updates, it tells me about v.7 being offered but when I select to upgrade, everything goes away completely and nothing is performed.?????
There is usually a glitch within the upgrade from 6 or 7 or am I man or woman who gets this?

Ive been using this system since version 4 and version 7.0.2 is best so far. It works flawlessly on all four of my harddrives and I run it at 2-3 times on a monthly basis. I have a Mac Pro 2009 version 4, 1 with three internals and something external drive and Im running Mavericks 10.9.2 beta. Though I have used Disk Warrior with great results, I prefer the integration and full-featured pair of Tech tool Pro.

I was running TechTool Pro 4.61, and received the upgrade to version 5. When I tried too from the DVD to perform the recommended installation, it corrupted my directory enough where my mac can't be booted from the hard disk drive. After a day of moving back and forth that has a clueless and rude tech support, I got this email, which I is going to be qouting in the entirety:
If TechTool Pro froze while optimizing from your DVD, there may be volume corruption.
If that you are unable to correct the volume corruption, you need to erase the drive and start a clean install.

Ive used TechTools since Version 2 and have absolutely never regretted spending the bucks. However, Version 5.0.0 had problems. Now that the production is up to.0.6, I am again delighted with this supplement. I have multiple Macs and definately will have this system on all soon.

I mainly use TTP for preventive monitoring and diagnosis, and until now it has was very beneficial. I also have Drive Genius and also other utilities such as aforementioned ones.
I will add reviews for other Mac utilities. After seeing the 2-star rating for TechTool Pro I felt compelled to provide my perspective. It is not a real bad product. I have no idea if it means much nowadays, but Tech Radar gave it 5 stars and MacWorld 4 mice.
