I have already been an avid user of Snagit since version 7. I would not recommend buying or upgrading to version 12.00. The application was previously the best product about the market. WHEN you were able to make use of it because your ALL-In-ONE program for carrying or recording DOS screenshots and videos, which has been removed in version 9. The only thing that still made itself worth using was the OCR and text to screen function, which again were drawn in Version 12.0. Forcing users to revisit Frapps or some other screen capture utilites for dos modes now another app to try and do OCR and text to screen functions. Opinions may very, but without those 2 features personally, this app can be a waste within this version. Theres nothing within it now that I cant do in another program. I hate to mention it, I really do, but such a long time snagit, you could have nothing to make available me anymore just as one all-in a single application. I will stay with version 11.0 or uninstall completely at this time. I havent really made up my head on it yet. It got a 2 only because its still somewhat beneficial to others.

Bit confusing to work with. We had that old version 8 and loved the merchandise. Bought it for my partner and he just isn't happy by it. Does not such as hidden dropdown icon around the top from the screen. And it is really a bit confusing in order to change from selecting merely a bit from the screen and receiving the whole scrolling web site. Also made our computer slow too up. Have removed it from startup and the situation is faster now.

Ive had most from the versions since Snagit was released. Some with the upgrades are not very good, others were a bit better. This upgrade to version 12 is exceptional. There are countless features which might be big time savers. The interface is quite a bit improved, with additional options, better icons, more contrasting colors. The tray icon is simpler to see, not the pale icon of version 11. The editor is a lot easier to nagivate among recent snags. The workspace might be cropped larger, so it is usually printed from the middle in the page, rather that smack from the top. When adding a caption, the font sizes, colors, positions are specified along lthe top ribbon, not the mysterious not easy to mouse to tiny balloons of version 11.
