I loved Snagit 7 and 8. Ive for ages been a fan of the product, and in tech support, I can honestly say I use quite sure every day - for troubleshooting and documentation. I upgraded to version 9 after I used the trial version for the week. The trial version was very slow, but I assumed that has been due to it being trial. I assumed the paid version can be much faster. I was wrong. Press the Print Screen key, and sit by. Versions 7 8 were instantaneous. Version 9 requires a full two seconds to start with capturing, and another two seconds to produce the Editor. Also, in version 8, my captures saved as JPG. In 9, they save as PNG. Why isnt there a setting allowing users to line the default file type? Finally, the capture history feature may very well be useful for many folks, but I still find it very annoying, and need there was a way to disable it. I would honestly possible until version 9.1 or until Techsmith works about the speed issues at the very least.

Before using SnagIt, I had to consider multiple screen shots, then attempt to paste it together. You can select only section of a window or component of the entire screen if you would like. I make extensive use on the Shape feature to attract circles or squares around the a part of the screen where I saw an issue, and I makes use of the Text feature to provide notes about the condition.

Im quite impressed. Portable and free, yet it functions together with-if not greater than-SnagIt! As for Ram, I think its fantastic without capturing videos or flash movies because it lets you do what its created for perfectly: screenshots, not capture movies.

FSCapture is nice, but better yet, please take a look at FastStone Image Viewer v3.2 is exactly what I have - it features a built in screen capture which looks enjoy it is exactly exactly the same as FSCapture, but on steroids. Im quite impressed. Portable and free, yet it functions together with-if not much better than- SnagIt ! As for Ram, I think its fantastic without capturing videos or flash movies because it will what its manufactured for perfectly: screenshots, not capture movies.
This is often a great program. Too bad the newest version has dropped the replacement for save as PDF and also a couple of other formats.
Capturing video might be done by changing the rendering method. If this isn't good enough available for you, receive a player that supports overlay snaps - most decent ones do. That or snag Taksi to consider overlay shots.
The replacement for save as has obviously been included again in v4.6. Nice app!

I wish to like the offer, but I just cannot seem for getting over a couple of things:
1. Automatic File Generation option I make use of this most on the time requires an output folder to get identified. The problem is that output folder option isn't portable. 2. Saving to PDF is often a good idea in writing, but generates bigger files than PNG. I saved a whole web page in PNG 1000 Kb. I saved the same site in PDF 1500 Kb no OCR function so treats capture like one big image.
3. Screen magnifier and color picker tools are of limited interest because from the way the knowhow are implemented. Other dedicated software Zzoom for instance do better job and therefore are small 15 Kb and portable.
4. Redllars FGWndGrab has more features like thumbnail, watermark, FTP and a number of others that I are yet to tried out dual monitor, background fill. It is just 168 Kb UPX compressed. The only problem I have with this blog is you cannot select the capture type desktop, window, rectangle, etc. on-the-fly.

3. Screen magnifier will probably be better if execute a bigger zoom, but color picker tool will be the best one I have never found
4. I try it, its a superb application but FastStone Capture might be more useful and easy to utilize.

on another note ive tried looking really tough for a plan that also can capture text to a file, id want to see it internal or perhaps even being a separate package.

I dont see what the condition with typing inside a relative path to avoid wasting your pictures to is, mine save to my usb stick fine on any pc.
I generally use this as an alternative to my SnagIt since it uses way less resources and is particularly much quicker.
Only problem Ive found by using it so far is usually that the scrolling website option will come out reeeeeeaaaaallllyyy badly.

and./foldername worked. Just should settle using a path relative to your executable. HTH
