I wanted to utilize this program like a go-between for Maya and NifSkope. NifSkeope likes to import 3ds in lieu of OBJ format. I model in Maya. Nifskope can import OBJ or 3ds to exchange mesh data. I saw that sketchup handled 3ds format and installed it really assuming that I could export an OBJ from Maya, import it to Sketchup then export a 3ds. Im giving a couple star review because I think it is really a mistake for those to overlook what on earth is still a really relevant if admittedly very dated and limited formatting.
