Ive been a Sibelius user since version 5, having cross-graded from Finale after managing and researching its crashes, bugs, and graphical user interface problems became a part-time job on it's own. At the same time I switched to Mac platform with Logic Pro and Apogee audio hardware, within the advice of the studio pro colleague, and along with Sibelius 5, enjoyed a virtually glitch-free studio around three years. The upgrade to Sibelius 6 had also been smooth.
The new Sibelius 7 reminds me of my days with Finale and PCs: it crashes virtually every session during many operations, including simple ones as saving and printing. Exporting to PDF crashes four times out of 5. Even saving to previous versions crashes often, to ensure some projects are temporarily useless. The installation have disabled Sibelius 6 towards the point where ReWire with Logic will not work, along with the Sound Essentials work only intermittently. Often error message boxes don't have any actual text - revealing that some error scenarios weren't anticipated and coded. Yes, I have each of the OS and program updates. And to be positive the problems are not on my end, I performed an entirely clean OS X Lion install which I have never once found necessary using a Mac, and all of problems remained.
I am quite sure if I devoted time for it to tracking down every glitch and bug with tech support, user forums, etc., I would learn you will discover good solutions somewhere to every one of these problems. I am also confident that Avid is working furiously about the next update that could fix this all.

Sibelius 7 is BY FAR the worst computer software I have ever used. Every single time I try to open up or take advantage of this software I am met with interface hell and little bugs without any explanation which come and select seemingly silly at all.
If I had downloaded this application without cost I would be insulted a thief even wasted my own time with it, nevertheless the fact that I paid a hefty price to upgrade from Sibelius 4 makes me sick.
Please do not buy this device and support their madness. No wonder AVID fired the entire dev team and simply holds onto the item by a shoe string.
